Hello everyone! My husband and I decided to name our daughter [name]Daphne[/name]. What do you think of the name??? [name]Do[/name] you think there will be any potential teasing? Does it sound feminine? Thank you for your input! 
I like [name]Daphne[/name] and yes it is very feminine imo. The only teasing potential I can guess at is [name]Daffy[/name] Duck.
That’s actually my concern. I really don’t think many kids these days even know who [name]Daffy[/name] Duck is; however, when mentioning the name to an older relative, she brought up the teasing potential. I fell in love with the name and never even thought of [name]Daffy[/name] Duck (until she mentioned it). Now I’m worried about it. 
I guess I don’t see how [name]Daffy[/name] Duck is a bad association. Its a cartoon duck. [name]Daphne[/name] could also be connected with Scooby Doo, but again, not really a bad thing in my opinion. [name]Daphne[/name] is cute, and I don’t think she’d had any major problems with it. Any name could have teasing potential.
[name]Daphne[/name] is feminine and classy. It’s a very underused biblical name, and [name]Daffy[/name] isn’t the worst nn ever. I think [name]Phoebe[/name] is really similar, so if you do get scared off by the [name]Daffy[/name] Duck potential, maybe that is a good replacement. I think [name]Daphne[/name] is fantastic.
If anybody actually used the daffy duck thing to tease your daughter, it probably wouldn’t last long and would get old fast. It is really not that funny.

Great choice. [name]Daphne[/name] has such Grecian grace. I wouldn’t worry about teasing.
That said, I had a babysitter named [name]Daphne[/name], and we used to call her [name]Daffy[/name] Duck, Daphydoodle, Daffydowndilly… It’s just a fun name to say- Daph, [name]Daphne[/name]… [name]Love[/name] it.
[name]Daphne[/name] is gorgeous. I love this name, absolutely stunning. I think of the beautiful Smashing Pumpkins song “[name]Daphne[/name] Descends”…
[name]Daphne[/name] is a great name! Plus [name]Daffy[/name] Duck was pretty awesome and funny. So she could always put a good spin on it if anyone ever references it. [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Oz[/name] is the daughter of Dr. [name]Oz[/name] and she is pretty, smart and on a daytime tv show with [name]Mario[/name] Batali among others (and perhaps, a bit more of a current reference for the name [name]Daphne[/name]).

[name]Daphne[/name] is a lovely name. Plus, a [name]Daphne[/name] would never have to worry about being [name]Daphne[/name] S. or ‘blonde [name]Daphne[/name]’.
I’m not that keen on it and it makes me think of the [name]Malory[/name] [name]Towers[/name] books but it is feminine, underused and has the cute nn [name]Daffy[/name] so I think it is a good name for you.
I think one of the scooby doo characters was called [name]Daphne[/name]? [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Velma[/name], Shaggy and blonde dude. Which of course wont be problem to this day but it is a big association for me that i cant use [name]Daphne[/name]! So i’m glad you are using it because it really is so beautiful when i take away the scooby doo thing and clearly not many people think scooby doo so its really not that big a deal! its just my own problem!

I adore [name]Daphne[/name] - like everyone else said, it’s classy, feminine and underused. I would totally consider it for myself.
ANY name has a potential for teasing. I’ve seen people bash the name [name]CATE[/name] because of it’s similarity to HATE. Seriously?
I think when the teasing potential outweighs everything else, then perhaps rethinking the name may be useful. (Think of the name Anul…in the US, it’s just not viewed the same as it should be.)
I think [name]Daphne[/name] is a wonderful name. If I hadn’t used it on my cat (all my pets get People names), I’d definitely be thinking about it for baby.
I absolutely adore [name]Daphne[/name]!!! She’s been on my list for years. It’s a beautiful, classy name. Any name, in the hands of cruel classmates, can have teasing potential. [name]Daffy[/name] isn’t the worst association and honestly I wouldn’t have even thought of it if someone hadn’t mentioned it first.
