What are your initial thoughts on the name [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]? Is too Scooby Doo? I like the combination of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] for a future daughter.
I really like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. It feels floral, vintage, light but serious
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is cute
I also really like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. It’s more rare, but a great established name. It has the ‘ee’ sound at the end without sounding cutsey.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] definitely reminds me of scooby doo, but that’s not a huge issue. The name also just isn’t that appealing to me, but that’s just personal preference.
I do think of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] from Scooby-Doo as first association but i don’t think its a big issue. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is lovely.
I think of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] du Maurier before [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] from Scooby-Doo. It’s one of my favorite names beginning w/the letter D, & I think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a really nice combination. If [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] makes you hesitate too much, what about [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]?
Scooby Doo isn’t my first association, though it does come to mind. I don’t really consider it a bad thing. I think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is sweet and gentle and floral and green. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a great name.
I think of a character in a series of books I read with my students, The Sisters Grimm. It’s a good association, she’s a great character! Aside from that, I think it’s a great name and so under used!
I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and it’s one of the few names that I loved as a little (name-obsessed) girl and still love today (mid-30s now). Unfortunately my husband doesn’t like it or it would be at the top of my list!
I think of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] de Maurier more than Scooby Doo. Another reason I like it
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is gorgeous. I watched lots of Scooby Doo, but my first association is du Maurier, followed by the character on [name_m]Frasier[/name_m]. [name_f]Velma[/name_f] would take me to Scooby Doo though.
I like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. It’s sweet & spunky. Very recognizable, but not too common. It’s not too Scooby Doo. And even if that’s a slight association, it’s not a bad one. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] has too many ‘n’ sounds in my opinion. It’s not awful; I’m just being knit-picky.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
It very much reminds me of Scooby Doo, but my sister was obsessed with it so that may be why. I love it though! [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is precious.
