Daphne?

[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is an off and on guilty pleasure of mine. Tell me what you think. (No, the Scooby-Doo thing doesn’t bother me in the least)

I really like it, it has a really pretty flow to it.

I absolutely adore [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I would definitely consider giving a baby this name and I plan to pitch it to my SO when the time comes. it’s easily recognizable but not common, and when I hear this name I imagine a young girl full of personality, super happy and in her own world, not keen to take other people’s opinions to heart.
I think a setback to this name is that people might try to nickname her Daph (that might be okay with some but I wouldn’t care for it) or try to be funny and call her [name_u]Daffy[/name_u].
some things to consider, but not enough to deter you if you really love it.
the Scooby Doo reference doesn’t bother me and isn’t a big deal anyway. she was a perfectly fine character and it’s not as big of a show as it used to be.

One of my best friends is named [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] but spelt [name_f]Dafne[/name_f] pronounced Daph-neh. She does go by Daf most of the time and I’ve known her about 8 years and never actually heard anyone make a Scooby Doo reference, not that it’s a bad thing but just hasn’t happened to her at all

Oh, I adore [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! One of my top favorites. It’s sweet and spunky with such a timeless, classy feel. The Scooby Doo association doesn’t really bother me either, and I’d totally consider using it irl.

I really like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! It’s familiar but unexpected and has a bright, happy vibe, imo. The only thing that holds me back from loving it is that it looks a little bit clunky to me when I see it written. That’s just me being bizarrely picky though–I would love to meet a little [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]!

I like Daphne!
Below is what the name reminds me of, it’s not blurred because it’s inappropriate, it’s just that sometimes when people tell me a random association with a name that I love, I can’t disassociate it and the name is ruined even though there’s not that much of a connection, so only click on it if you want to know. And, it’s really not a big deal, I’m just being sooo extra as usual!

It reminds me a little of the word daft

Anyway, that was way too long of an explanation! But, I like Daphne!

I really like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] - both the sound and the meaning.

My first pop culture association is actually [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] from [name_m]Frasier[/name_m] rather than Scooby-Doo, haha. Either way, I’m not bothered by the associations either!

I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. It’s a beautiful, elegant name. I like the connections to [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] du Maurier and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] Caruana Galizia.

I don’t mind the Scooby Doo association. For me, the show is really nostalgic.

I adore [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! It’s my great-grandmother’s name. I never met her so don’t have a strong personal relationship with it. [name_m]Just[/name_m] one of the few family names I like the sound of and would consider using. I don’t feel like the Scooby Doo association would be strong.

I’d probably use Daph as a nn part of the time at least. I feel like it’s a cute, spunky, and fresh feeling name. Uncommon but not unheard of.
