I like [name]Darcy[/name] more than [name]Darwin[/name]. [name]Darcy[/name] seems stronger than [name]Darwin[/name] to me. The images are different: [name]Darcy[/name] is a romantic hero in literature and [name]Darwin[/name] is a serious scientist. Personally, I love the Mr [name]Darcy[/name] literary connection.

I love [name]Darcy[/name] for a boy but I’m going to have to disagree with you about [name]Darcy[/name] seen as more of a boy’s name. I know of 5 little girls named [name]Darcy[/name] all under the age of about 6 years old. Also, if you add all the different spellings of [name]Darcy[/name] ([name]Darcy[/name], [name]Darcey[/name], [name]Darcie[/name], [name]Darci[/name]) together the name is well within the top 50 girls names. [name]Just[/name] writing this to warn you. However, I see it as a boy’s name and would love to see it used on a boy.

I don’t think I explained what I meant very well haha, I understand that in some areas it’s more popular for girls

Oh sorry, my mistake! I wish I lived in your area, there’s [name]Darcy[/name]'s everywhere at the moment that are all girls.

I’ve got to say, I really dislike both. [name]Charles[/name] ruined [name]Darwin[/name]. And I only see [name]Darcy[/name] as a girl’s name. [name]How[/name] about these instead:

[name]Duncan[/name]
[name]Declan[/name]
[name]Desmond[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Dexter[/name]

I love both of them! If you don’t want gender confusion I’d go with [name]Darwin[/name] (great namesake too). If you don’t care, I’d go with darcy! Where in [name]England[/name] do you live? I’ve met two little girlsand one boy called [name]Darcy[/name] in [name]London[/name]!

[name]Darcy[/name]! I find it much more dashing, whereas [name]Darwin[/name] just feels really nerdy to me. I do love the meaning of [name]Darwin[/name] though.

I live in the [name]East[/name] Midlands  I know one girl my age {16} named [name]Darcy[/name] {actually D’arcy}, but I know three little boys under five with the name. Although, I think it’s one of the few names that can work really well on either gender…

[name]Darwin[/name] makes me think of the monkey from [name]Wild[/name] Thornberries
I much more prefer [name]Darcy[/name] for a boy

I really like the sound and feel of [name]Darwin[/name] (very smart, a bit nerdy to me), but even if it’s not a political statement, I think it’s a LOT to live up to, and there will always be some people who take offense (I’m personally a [name]Christian[/name], a creationist, and I wouldn’t treat a little [name]Darwin[/name] different from anyone else, but I know Christians who would. It’s sad, but true.). I just wouldn’t be willing to take that risk. I do love the meaning “dear friend”, though!

I love [name]Darcy[/name] for [name]Fitzwilliam[/name]; I absolutely adore Pride and Prejudice, I think [name]Darcy[/name]'s such a strong and wonderful character, but I do think it would be seen as feminine in a lot of places. I’m not in the UK so I can’t say what it would be like there, but it seems (from what I’ve heard from this and that) like it might be growing in popularity for girls there as well. I’ve considered it for a boy, though, I do like [name]Asher[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Darcy[/name].

If I had to choose realistically, I would vote [name]Darcy[/name], but in an imaginary world, I like [name]Darwin[/name] better. Realistically, though, I don’t think I could use either even though I like both.

I absolutely love [name]Darcy[/name]! I’ve never heard on either gender [name]IRL[/name] (much as I’d love to!) so I think of it as a boy’s name. Mr. [name]Darcy[/name]'s one of my all-time favourite literary characters.

Hmm, I like both names. [name]Darcy[/name] is romantic, whilst [name]Darwin[/name] feels geeky which is fine by me (being quite a geek). I think I prefer [name]Darcy[/name] more even though [name]Darwin[/name] is the name of the city I was born in.

I love both names and have both on my names list! I voted for [name]Darcy[/name] though because I love it when used on a boy!

I’ve never met a [name]Darcy[/name]. [name]Male[/name] or female. I definitely prefer [name]Darwin[/name]. [name]Darcy[/name] kind of gives me a uptight, snobbish vibe… I don’t know why.

And I will never understand people taking offense to [name]Darwin[/name] because of evolution. [name]Charles[/name] [name]Darwin[/name] paved the way for biologists and scientists of all kind. It’s just like naming your child Tesla or [name]Edison[/name] or [name]Orville[/name], they were all pioneers in their fields. Evolution is not a theory or some crazy made up idea, it is science and there is new evidence of it almost every single day. [name]Just[/name] like electricity is not a theory. I’m not trying to start a religious debate, but it’s just beyond silly to me that people in modern times still think evolution is a lie. :-?

Totally agree with that!

Couldn’t agree more also!

I voted [name]Darcy[/name] because [name]Darwin[/name] is just way too heavy of a name for a child to have to bear. But I really dislike [name]Darcy[/name] on a boy. I have only met girl [name]Darcy[/name]'s.

I like [name]Darwin[/name]. I dig [name]Charles[/name] myself, but I think that anyone being weird about your kid sharing a name with a scientist they may or may not agree with would be rude. I like Mr. [name]Darcy[/name], but I mostly associate the name with girls now.

I voted [name]Darwin[/name] only because I know so many baby [name]Darcy[/name]'s it would just be weird for me to see it on a boy.
I went onto your listography blog and like how you’ve paired [name]Darcy[/name] with [name]Noah[/name], however. I think [name]Noah[/name] [name]Darcy[/name] would be nice, or [name]Noah[/name] [name]Darwin[/name].
