Darcy?

Thoughts on [name_f]Darcy[/name_f]? [name_f]My[/name_f] husband isn’t the biggest fan and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth my time to convince him. I do really like it. I would actually love it for a boy, but I know that will be a hard no for him. So how do you feel about [name_f]Darcy[/name_f]? What images and feelings does it conjure for you? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it works with my daughters’ names, [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Raven[/name_f]?

I love [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] on a girl. I think it’s really sweet but not too frilly because of the surname vibe. You could have a [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] with your [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Raven[/name_f] - all three are unusual but recognisable, two syllables and contain A sounds, but they’re nice and distinct from one another.
[name_m]Can[/name_m] hubby articulate what he doesn’t like about the name?

Ooh, I love [name_f]Darcy[/name_f]! Gentle with a hint of the outdoors, surname-y, and literary but sweet and pretty too.

I like it with your daughters’ names

He has a distant cousin named [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] who he saw only a couple of times as a kid and developed a crush on before he realized she was his cousin.

The sweet, but not too frilly I think is why I like it. That’s how I feel about my daughters’ names.

Thank you!

Oh no, I have no counter argument for this association :joy: YouTuber [name_f]Louise[/name_f] Pentland has a daughter named [name_f]Darcy[/name_f], in case it woud be any help for him to see a child wearing the name!

I think [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] goes with your other names. I dont love it myself personally, but I think it’s an on-trend quirky choice!

I think it’d work - with the other two, it’s fitting in with that magical, dark academic, creative vibe. They make a fab trio, like in a movie about witchy and fun sisters. My friend has a (teen) Darcy who spells it Darcey - a legit variation that I think she used to get away from Mr Darcy (she’s a Brit). Think I prefer Darcy but I can see appeal of an E for a girl. There’s Darcie too but to me that makes it very cutesy.

I love [name_f]Darcy[/name_f], I think it’s lovely! To me it has a preppy vibe, and with your other childrens’ names it’s giving dark academia in the best way.

oh darcy for a girl is magical! i love it so much. i would pair it with a more of a girly middle name like amelia, liliana, evangeline, pricilla etc. it makes me think of mr. darcy from pride and prejudice but i don’t think that should deter you from using the name. i think it would go nicely with arwen and raven.

[name_f]Darcy[/name_f] sounds lovely for a girl. I associate it with the character [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] from [name_f]Marvel[/name_f] who is a very intelligent woman, with a great sense of humor.
[name_f]Darcy[/name_f] would work well with [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Raven[/name_f]!

A family friend recently had a sweet baby girl named [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] (little sister to Barney!) so I’m feeling affectionate towards this name at the moment. I think it has a cute girly feel whilst still being very streamlined and wearable at any age in your life. Here in the UK it had a brief phase of extreme popularity a few years ago, so maybe it feels the teensiest bit dated, but nothing to worry about (like I said I just met a baby one!). It’s a lot more familiar than your daughters’ names, but they would all have a literary vibe which is super fun!

I think [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] is adorable  it’s on my shortlist too.

It goes well with your other girls in my opinion. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] choice!

[name_f]Darcy[/name_f] I want to like, because of Pride and Prejudice, but it just never quite clicked. I’m not a fan of unisex names in general though and it seems sort of weird to me because [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] is a guy lol. But it has a pleasant sound! I just prefer [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] myself. But I think [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] works great with your girls, [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Raven[/name_f], and [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] are really great together. Only slightly put off that it doesn’t end in -en like the other two but not enough to not use it. I like it for you a lot.

It’s well used on a girl here (in the UK), I like it! It’s sweet but not princessy, it’s the right balance I think. Not to mention I think it wears really well, suiting a baby girl, a teenager and a grown woman. I also think [name_f]Darcy[/name_f] goes well with [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] and [name_f]Raven[/name_f].
