Dark girls names

Right, Berries. Could you guys help me please? I’m looking for some girls names that mean dark, night, evening etc, born in the evening, conjure up the colour black etc. It must have a “Y” in the spelling preferably. I already have [name]Darcy[/name] and [name]Twyla[/name] on my list, if that helps. Thank you muchess in advance. X

I suggest you look at this post,

[name]Twyla[/name] is gorgeous! [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Nyx[/name]
[name]Lilith[/name]
[name]Starla[/name]
[name]Poe[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]/[name]Clio[/name]
[name]Bronte[/name]

My first thought was [name]Nyx[/name] as well.

Or you could spell [name]Lilith[/name] with a y—Lilyth or Lylith

I love the name [name]Darcy[/name]!

There’s also [name]Layla[/name], [name]Carey[/name], Karayan, [name]Mindy[/name]

I think to get the y you might have to alter the spelling.
[name]Ravyn[/name]
Sabyl
[name]Melany[/name]
[name]Delya[/name] ([name]Delia[/name] is the Greek moon goddess)

[name]Ebony[/name]
[name]Onyx[/name]
[name]Nyx[/name]
[name]Midnight[/name] - Direct, but feels a bit like a cat name to me.
[name]Layla[/name] (though I prefer [name]Laila[/name]/[name]Leila[/name])
[name]Branwen[/name]
[name]Vesper[/name]/Hesper/Hesperia - means evening.
Vespertine (You could spell it -tyne I guess, like [name]Leontyne[/name]) - Wikipedia says: "Vespertine is a term used in the life sciences to indicate something of, relating to, or occurring in the evening. In botany, a vespertine flower is one that opens or blooms in the evening. In zoology, the term is used for a creature that becomes active in the evening, such as bats and owls. […]

The term vespertine is derived from the Latin word vesper, meaning evening."

I think [name]Ebony[/name] is the obvious one. It also happens to be one of my favourite names, which I’ve loved since forever.

[name]Ebony[/name]
[name]Onyx[/name]

[name]Adriana[/name] means Dark
[name]Layla[/name]/[name]Leila[/name]/Laile means dark or born at night

[name]Lilith[/name]
[name]Astraea[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]
Nightingale
Ilta
[name]Cassiopeia[/name]
Tecumseh - ok it’s a masculine name, but too lovely not to mention. [name]Shawnee[/name] for “panther passing across”
Panthera? Pantheras is a legit name, again masculine.

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions! You have been a massive help, I love [name]Onyx[/name], [name]Layla[/name] and [name]Ebony[/name]! And [name]Carey[/name] is lovely too! X

Does [name]Ivy[/name] go with [name]Darcy[/name] and [name]Twyla[/name]? Surname is [name]Brown[/name].

Yes! [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Darcy[/name] and [name]Twyla[/name] are fantastic!

For some reason I think of [name]Veronica[/name] and [name]Rachel[/name].

[name]Kiera[/name] means “dark” or “black”. You might want to go to babynamesworld.com. You can search for names by meaning there.

[name]Diana[/name] feels dark to me. I think it’s because [name]Anne[/name] was always jealous of [name]Diana[/name]'s raven hair.
