Dashiell?

What do you think about the name [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]?
Are [name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] to similar in pronunciation?
Could they be brothers?

Thanks for the help!

I’m not a fan of [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], at all.

[name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] do sound similar but also don’t feel the same

[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] is on our short list for our boy due in [name_f]September[/name_f]! It’s a great name, and [name_u]Dash[/name_u] is such a cute, zippy nickname. I don’t think [name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] are too close in sound, though I’m willing to bet you’ll holler out “JASH! I mean DACK! No, not you, your brother!” at least once. I don’t think [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] has the same “vibe” as [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but whatever; if [name_m]Jack[/name_m] suits your older son and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] suits your younger, that’s what matters. You can try to craft a perfect-sounding sibset, but the boys themselves will be the perfect sibset, no matter their names. (Alternately, you can refer to [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as “[name_m]Jacques[/name_m]” from here on out. )

I like it, and I think [name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] are adorable brothers.

We have a [name_u]Dash[/name_u] where I teach and he is adorable.

I think [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] is charming and [name_u]Dash[/name_u] is very cute. I like the vibe of [name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] together, but I’m not sure about the similarity in sound. I think it would bother me to have the two 1 syllable names with the same vowel. I think I would still say [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] & [name_m]Jack[/name_m] when referring to them together, but call him [name_u]Dash[/name_u].

[name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] could absolutely be brothers - adorable.

In the Pixar movie The Incredibles, they have two boys named [name_u]Dash[/name_u] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m]-[name_m]Jack[/name_m], so more validation
