I’ve loved this one for awhile now but perhaps more in theory than in reality. But now that I’m pregnant with a boy I’m curious about it and how others perceive it. Personally, I don’t know if I could get past the fact that a little [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] would constantly have to spell his name out…
I love it! It would be on my own list if it weren’t so close to [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] I pronounce it DASH-ul.
It’s cool and literary and refined, and [name_u]Dash[/name_u] is sweet and fun. [name_u]Love[/name_u] both the [name_m]Hammett[/name_m] and Incredibles connections too. And I really like it with A! Same quirky but sophisticated vibes, while still feeling like an appealing eclectic duo.
I love it! I watch a lady on YouTube with a little [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. It’s handsome and the nickname [name_u]Dash[/name_u] is so cute. I say it as [name_u]Dash[/name_u]-ull, but [name_u]Dash[/name_u]-eel is also nice.
DASH-ull. I like it! I’ve never met anyone with this name in real life, but I think it’s cute and very wearable. The nickname [name_u]Dash[/name_u] is awesome.
I really like it! I pronounce it DASH-ul. I don’t think I’ve ever met a [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] (I live in Atlantic [name_f]Canada[/name_f]). I find it and the nickname [name_u]Dash[/name_u] really sweet and refreshing yet it still feels like a weighty enough “old” name, if that makes sense. I do agree that depending where you live he could have to spell out his name a lot.
I named my son [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] in [name_u]Jan[/name_u] 2017 & I’m so glad I did, I ADORE it and we call him either [name_u]Dash[/name_u], Dashie or [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], he also LOVES his name… NO ONE pronounces it correctly when reading his name, they always say [name_u]Dash[/name_u]-ee-ell and while we call him Dashie, I personally don’t like this pronunciation. I originally thought this was how it was pronounced, which put me off the name, but once I heard it pronounced correctly as [name_u]Dash[/name_u]-uhl, I fell in love. I was determined to find how people pronounced it, and living in Australia I’ve not heard it ever, so I searched for Cate Blanchet talking about her son Dashiell on YouTube and heard her pronounce it and I loved it. I was determined to convince hubby to use this for our sons name … I don’t mind correcting people and simply tell educators or doctors to call him [name_u]Dash[/name_u], everyone knows how to pronounce that. I think it’s a strong, handsome name that works well as an adult in a professional career, and [name_u]Dash[/name_u] or Dashie is a great personal nickname, even for a child. I love it to this day and [name_u]Dash[/name_u] is very proud of his name, spells it confidently and corrects people without concern also.
Good for you! @Cashaz85 I also love the name [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. I watch a YouTuber named [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] on her channel [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] Family and she has a son named [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]
Dash-ull. And honestly if you do any name that’s remotely uncommon you’re spelling it out anyway! Daughter to a [name_f]Galilee[/name_f], and my name is also a little obscure.
