[name]Hi[/name] there,
I need some unbiased opinion on my Bubs name. I feel like we just settled on a name and I’m not sure if I ‘[name]Love[/name]’ it
What do you think of the name [name]Geneva[/name].
Thanks everyone!
[name]Hi[/name] there,
I need some unbiased opinion on my Bubs name. I feel like we just settled on a name and I’m not sure if I ‘[name]Love[/name]’ it
What do you think of the name [name]Geneva[/name].
Thanks everyone!
I think it’s pretty - do you call her anything for short? I tend to like girls names which are a bit different and end in ‘a’! I think [name]Jenny[/name] would be sweet as a nn or [name]Neve[/name] is even cuter!
What makes you feel like you only settled on it? Did you have any other names you really liked at all?
Sometimes I feel like that about our 2nd daughters name which is [name]Francesca[/name] - though it’s lovely and I do like it - I think I feel like that because I thought she was a boy so spent 9 months trying to think of boys names, we only discussed girls names once right at the beginning. [name]Both[/name] said we liked [name]Francesca[/name] and that was the end of the discussion, we didn’t even think of other names when she popped out a girl!
I love it. I had a puppy named [name]Geneva[/name] nn [name]Neve[/name] for a while
I also think [name]Neve[/name] is an adorable nick name!
I have the same problem, my daughter is 8 months, [name]Tylar[/name] [name]Jade[/name] and while my husband and I love her name, I constantly have to explain it and people usually think it’s a boy. Once she’s older it shouldn’t be a problem but I hope she doesn’t hate it!
Thanks beccalm, We call her [name]Genie[/name] for short, and I love the name [name]Gene[/name] as an adult. (Which is a bit masculine…I think [name]Jean[/name] is the feminine spelling?) Unfortunately [name]Nevaeh[/name] has become really popular here in Australia ([name]Heaven[/name] spelt backwards) so I tend not to call her [name]Neve[/name] (But I love it as a nn too). I feel better knowing other Mums feel the same about it, hopefully, I will grow to love it :). We called her this after the [name]Geneva[/name] Convention…We like the concept behind the agreement…you know, non-violent protection of the weak etc
Aww [name]Genie[/name] is a lovely nn too! Adorable! And what a lovely reason for calling her [name]Geneva[/name]
I love the name [name]Geneva[/name], too! And such a neat personal meaning/association behind it. We go back and forth between having [name]Geneva[/name] vs. [name]Genevieve[/name] on our list. (I prefer [name]Geneva[/name], DH likes [name]Genevieve[/name] a little better.)
[name]Geneva[/name] is one of the few place names I like for a girl. It’s pretty, elegant and sophisticated. It also has a little sassiness and European flair thrown in! I think it’s lovely and I hope you grow to love it!
I had a wonderful college roommate named [name]Geneva[/name], so I have a great association with that name. Her nickname is [name]Neva[/name].
I love [name]Geneva[/name]! I would call her [name]Eva[/name] or [name]Evie[/name], but [name]Genie[/name] is cute too.
I’m very fond of the name [name]Geneva[/name], I think it’s lovely.
Your daughter is nearly one, and at this point her name is hers, not just your choice anymore. Too change it just because you’re not sure you love it, is a bit unfair imo. If she was younger, say up to 2 months old, then that’s one thing, but she’s nearly one, [name]Geneva[/name] is her name, it’s not fair to change it now.
I can’t make you love it, but I love it [name]Geneva[/name] is a beautiful name. [name]Love[/name] all the nickname possibilities, but the full name is gorgeous.
I have always loved the name [name]Geneva[/name]! Each syllable is beautiful, individually and together. It is an exceptional name. If I miraculously had twin girls right now, I would strongly consider using [name]Geneva[/name] for one of them. I love the full name, but if I ever felt inclined to use nickname, I would probably go with [name]Eva[/name], which is another favorite of mine. I hope you come to love your daughter’s name. I, for one, think you made an absolutely awesome choice!!
I think it’s a really great name, love her nickname, and think you have a great story behind the name. [name]Don[/name]'t feel like you “settled”- you gave her a great name!
[name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Geneva[/name]! You made a very good choice
I love it!!! A lovely nn would be [name]Eva[/name]. Its soooo gorgeous, elegant, and classy, you can’t go wrong with [name]Geneva[/name].
I think [name]Geneva[/name] is super cute. I’m partial to [name]Genevieve[/name] myself, but [name]Geneva[/name] is definitely a beautiful, elegant and timeless name.
It has a load of cute nickname possibilities - [name]Gen[/name], [name]Neve[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Evie[/name], etc.
Also, I think by a year old [name]Geneva[/name] is definitely a person and not just a name on a list. I would be interested to know her middle name if you care to share.
I think it is a very pretty name!
I think it’s a beautiful name. I think at this point you have to realize that the choice is made and that your daughter is [name]Geneva[/name]…otherwise, like a painter, you’ll constantly want to go back and change things!
Yep, It’s [name]Wynne[/name] after her grandmother, Plus it seemed to flow nicely. Thanks to everyone for your feedback, I actually feel a lot more confident about it now. I Loved her brothers name from the first second and I guess I just expected the same conviction with her name. It has defiantly grown on me and her brother (2) calls her [name]Nova[/name], which is super cute.
