Daughter's first & middle name, help!

Hello everyone

I recently found out that I’m having a lovely baby girl! I have months and months to pick out a name, but I’m already obsessing over baby names with all this time on my hands!

My partner and I recently decided on 2 baby girls first names:

#1 Aibhlinn ([name_f]Ave[/name_f]-Leen) which is the traditional Irish spelling of the name Avelin. We love this name because it is so unique! Since we are both of Irish decent we think it could be cool to give her an Irish name!

#2 [name_f]Violet[/name_f]…I’m sure you’ve all heard this name before! We love how feminine and classic this name is. It is my boyfriends first choice but my second choice simply because I fear that it is becoming too common.

I would love to know which one of these names you prefer, and why. In addition, I would like to hear any middle name suggestions you can think of.

Please help us out!

Honestly, I think if you want to name her Aibhlinn, you should try to spell it in a way that people can easily pronounce. [name_f]Alyson[/name_f] Hannigan and her husband named their daughter [name_u]Keeva[/name_u], which is traditionally spelled [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f], because they didn’t want her to constantly have to pronounce it for people. I’m hella Irish as well, but I certainly wouldn’t use the traditional Irish spelling of names. Aibhlinn is a pretty name, but I would try to spell it phonetically. I think your daughter would thank you later down the line.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] is my choice (I am also thinking of it for my own future daughter). I would just check to see how popular it is in your area. I don’t know any Violets where I live and have never met one.

Sadly, if you name her Aibhlinn and you don’t live in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f], most people won’t know how it is spelled or how to pronounce it. Would you consider naming her simply Avelin?
Anyway, I prefer [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. It’s such a wonderful and charming classic and I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] it’s very pretty!

I agree spell it phonetically or go with Voilet. There is a little In in our homeschool group with a very Irish name and I for the life of me can never ever remember how to pronounce it.

Aibhlinn [name_f]Iris[/name_f]/Avelin [name_f]Iris[/name_f] or Aibhlinn [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]/Avelin [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]

Have you considered [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Aibhlinn?
