My husband and I are expecting twin girls and we can’t seem to find a name that flows well with our other daughters names ( [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [Eye-la] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]).
we are just looking for their first names to flow*
We are leaning towards the name [name_f]Cosette[/name_f](baby A) as we believe it flows nicely, but we can’t find a middle name we like. We are also looking for baby B’s names as well as suggestion for baby A.
Wow, your daughters have absolutely lovely names! They are packed with meaning and style. Some suggestions: Middles for [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]: [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Manon[/name_f] [name_u]Michele[/name_u] [name_f]Sabine[/name_f]
Other ideas [name_f]Colette[/name_f]: I immediately thought of this. It shares many of the same sounds, but is a bit more mainstream and classic, like your other daughter’s names. It has a lot of [name_m]French[/name_m] flair and style. [name_f]Celine[/name_f]: Another beautiful, elegant, modern-yet-storied [name_m]French[/name_m] choice. It has a great meaning (“heavenly”) that ties in nicely with [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], and [name_f]Celine[/name_f] and [name_f]Colette[/name_f] or [name_f]Celine[/name_f] and [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] make absolutely striking twins. [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]: Speaking of striking twins, [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] are swoon-worthy. [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] is a modern beauty, just like [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], and is also french with a double letter, but not to similar. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]: A more vintage choice that meets in the middle in terms of length, but has such a history and gorgeous, unusual style. It could also work as a middle for [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]. [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are perectly matched sisters. [name_f]Esme[/name_f]: Or what about [name_f]Esme[/name_f]? It is a rising, yet still underused choice, like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]. It is shorter, but melodic and beautiful. This is one of my favorites for you. [name_f]Helene[/name_f]/[name_f]Helena[/name_f]: Very classic, but stylish and meaningful, like [name_f]Elora[/name_f]. [name_f]Olympia[/name_f]: Modern, with some of the sounds of more mainstream choices, but unique and distinctive. This name is beautiful adn perfectly suited stylistically and sound-wise to your daughter’s names. I like the connection wtih the “o” sound. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]: Flowy, long name that has seen growth in recent years. Beautiful, and well-suited to your sibset. [name_u]Simone[/name_u]: [name_m]French[/name_m] and strong, but also stylish and current without being trendy. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] is a beautiful name that goes so well with your daughters. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]: An evergreen, gorgeous choice that appeals throughout cultures and is recognizable but not overused. [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]: A bold sound, with lots of strength and a great meaning. It is ultrafeminine, and oh-so-lovely.
I may be in the minority here, but I do not like [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]. I have trouble when I try to imagine interviewing a serious, grown woman named [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] for a high powered position. ([name_f]Isla[/name_f] sounds sharp and bright and witty; whereas [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]… Not so much).
I see you like longer, more feminine names, however, so I suggest some potential alternatives (including some with a [name_m]French[/name_m] flair, in case that’s what attracted you to [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]) :
What do you guys think of the names:
Adleigh
[name_f]Alivia[/name_f] (like the pronunciation better than [name_f]Olivia[/name_f])
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
Emmarie (spelling is because of relatives)
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] for its [name_m]French[/name_m] flair, classic style, and elegance, and the same goes for [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is just about perfect; I love it with your sibset. [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is equally lovely. Emmarie doesn’t have quite the flow for me, but I like the special meaning to you. Adleigh isn’t my favorite: I don’t see it as a stylistic match with your sibset, and I think the flow from first to second syllable is a little clunky. The sound of [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] is nice, but I worry about it getting misspelled/causing confusion.
Adleigh is pretty different stylistically from your daughters’ names as well as [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] is pretty but I have the feeling there will be a lot of spelling issues. Would [name_f]Livia[/name_f] work for you?
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], & [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] all have the same [name_m]French[/name_m] flair to them; they’re a bit longer than [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], & [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], but I think they match up fine.
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is pretty, but then you’d have two names starting w/E. I don’t know if that would bother you or not…?
Emmarie has the same starting-with-E issue, & although it sounds pretty, I heard “mammary” in my head when I read the name. I don’t know if that’s just me or if it would occur to others as well.
As it seems you’re really looking at [name_m]French[/name_m] names, here are some that I think go well w/[name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], & [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] (I did include a few names that start w/C because of the twin factor):
Adleigh - It has a nice sound. I prefer the spelling [name_u]Adley[/name_u].
[name_f]Alivia[/name_f] - I really like this.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]*- very nice. I prefer [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], though.
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - I like this.
Emmarie - I like [name_u]Emory[/name_u], but understand that you want to keep [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] might be more pleasing.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - very nice and lots of nn potential.
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] and [name_f]Selena[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] and [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] and [name_f]Mila[/name_f] (me-la)/[name_f]Milla[/name_f] (mill-er)
