Can you ladies help me find a name to honor my husband who’s middle name is [name_m]David[/name_m]?
I would like it to start with D if possible.
I’ve found [name_f]Davina[/name_f] and Davinia but I’m not a huge fan.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Dariel[/name_u] or [name_f]Dariela[/name_f]? Both include the meaning “beloved”, which is the same as [name_m]David[/name_m].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] @waihan’s suggestions.
[name_f]Davia[/name_f] is another option that I find more appealing than [name_f]Davina[/name_f]. I would pronounce it [name_u]DAY[/name_u]-vee-uh.
[name_u]Devin[/name_u]/[name_u]Devon[/name_u]/[name_f]Devonne[/name_f] and [name_f]Devra[/name_f] have similar sounds to [name_m]David[/name_m].
And I know you would like a D name, but another option would be to use the middle of [name_m]David[/name_m] — the -avi part:
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Avia[/name_f]
[name_f]Avita[/name_f]
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_u]Tavi[/name_u] (apparently the feminine short form of [name_m]David[/name_m])
Good luck!
[name_f]Davida[/name_f]
[name_u]Davi[/name_u]/[name_m]Davie[/name_m] (I’m guessing it’s pronounced Dah-Vee as opposed to [name_m]Dave[/name_m]-E.)
Davonna
[name_f]Davita[/name_f]/Davite
All the same meaning and root.
Would you consider honoring his first name?
I like @ceryle’s suggestions of [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], and [name_f]Avita[/name_f]!
Daveigh is my favourite feminine version of [name_m]David[/name_m].
There’s also [name_f]Davida[/name_f].
[name_m]David[/name_m] means beloved, and [name_f]Amy[/name_f] means loved! That might be a nice subtle way to honour [name_m]David[/name_m]!
I agree about trying with the first name.
Sorry it took so long to respond. I have [name_f]Althea[/name_f] picked out to honor him with the [name_f]Thea[/name_f] portion because it has the same meaning and root and then the [name_m]AL[/name_m] part honors his mom.
Also I wanted to pair it with [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].
[name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is lovely.
I wanted to pair [name_f]Althea[/name_f] with [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. The plan was to honor my husband and myself as well as our parents/Granparents. So [name_f]Althea[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], is my initials, part of my middle name, my grandmother’s name, and then my husband and his mother. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] D____ is my husbands initials with a combo of mine and my mother’s name and then I needed something that started with a D. His father is [name_u]Billy[/name_u] [name_m]Harris[/name_m], if that helps.
