Thinking of going [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] (both family names, [name_m]William[/name_m] always being the middle), but having him go by [name_m]Will[/name_m].
Can you foresee any difficulties with his middle name in effect becoming the first name?
I would prefer [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] if he is going by [name_m]William[/name_m] ([name_m]Will[/name_m]) and it isn’t a big deal, but doctor’s offices, etc. will call “[name_m]David[/name_m]” to come in, or when he has to show ID, they will refer to him as [name_m]David[/name_m] as that will be his first name on his [name_m]Driver[/name_m]'s License, Social Security, etc. I have a friend that goes by his middle name and he is sometimes so tuned out to his proper first name that when he gets called, they often call twice. [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] flow equally well though.
I agree. If you are planning on calling him [name_m]Will[/name_m], call him [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]. Personally I prefer [name_m]David[/name_m]. I love [name_m]Davy[/name_m] and [name_m]Dax[/name_m] as nicknames. I think [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] flows slightly better than [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] but flow is not as important as using the name you personally love or is special to you.
