What are your thoughts on the name [name_u]Dean[/name_u]?
I don’t like it as much as other Berries; I think it’s plain. I usually think of the celebrity and that’s it. sorry
I love the name [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. That may be because I’m a reformed Supernatural fangirl, but it’s just a really solid one-syllable boy’s name.
I love [name_u]Dean[/name_u], but my judgement is also clouded by my love for [name_u]Dean[/name_u] Winchester. I never paid much attention to it until watching Supernatural, but it truly is a solid, strong, underused boy’s name. It’s got a serious retro cool factor about it too.
It’s funny that you both mentioned Supernatural because that where I starting loving the name [name_u]Dean[/name_u]. A lot of my favorites come from TV shows. :lol:
I love it so much! It’s my neighbor’s son, so I can’t use it at this point in my life, but that’s how much I love it. It feels a bit rugged to me, but not in an overt cowboy way like [name_m]Waylon[/name_m] or [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]. It could totally work for a preppy slick guy though. I think of [name_u]Dean[/name_u] Moriarty so it feels epic & rambling for me. It doesn’t feel especially 2014 baby, it could be a guy of any age really, so it will never feel dated. Like, if you read the name [name_m]Milo[/name_m] you probably picture a little kid, but the name [name_u]Dean[/name_u] feels neutral.
[name_u]Dean[/name_u] was the name of my 6th grade history teacher, and it kind of grosses me out because of this man’s personal habits.
On a more positive note, it is an academic-sounding name, an intelligent name.
It also surprisingly has a bit of a cowboy feel to it.
I suppose it would remind some of [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Dean[/name_u], but I don’t think of that.
I love it because of [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_m]Martin[/name_m], but even besides that it’s a wonderful name. Simple, but not used often at all : )

I think its such an underused classic!!! I think of [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Dean[/name_u] and to me thats a great association!
I’ve never seen Supernatural - I love [name_u]Dean[/name_u] because of [name_u]Dean[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] from [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]! 
I really like it and would like to use it at least in the middle for a son (it’s my granddad’s name) but my boyfriend doesn’t like it much at all. He says it’s old sounding and then mentioned, oh like the (hilarious, weird and closeted) dean in (the tv show) Community? Sooo maybe it won’t happen.
I’m still a big fan of the name though!
