What’s your thoughts on [name_u]December[/name_u] for a girl? I know some people are against the idea to name a child this, due to month names being overrated (to some people), this being too out there or unique for themselves, the religious aspect to, and other things too.
But to me, I quite like this name, more than I should. But I think it’s bc it honors my maternal grandparents, since they got married in [name_u]December[/name_u], specifically [name_u]Christmas[/name_u].
Is it too cheesy? And is it actually usable for a girl? TIA!
I think it’s cute! I’m a big fan of the “new” month names, and especially if you have a special connection to [name_u]December[/name_u] it would be a sweet name. She could go by nicknames [name_u]Ember[/name_u], Deci, [name_f]Cici[/name_f], etc if she isn’t a fan as she grows up.
I think it’s sweet! While it’s not one I would use, I certainly don’t think month names are overrated — I think they’re lovely especially as honor names!
I would think it’s usable if their could be some “scapegoat” nicknames on hand. I could see some teasing potential and maybe some annoying “pun-like” lines from people. Depending on the personality of the girl holding this name it could prove to be a bit much so having that default nickname would be worthwhile IMO
That’s true, as well as a “safe” mn (i.e.: [name_f]Alison[/name_f], ECT)! That’s why I made a list of nn I could find; Dessie/Dess, Emmie/Emmy, [name_u]Ember[/name_u] and even [name_u]Berry[/name_u] could work
I think that it’s not overrated the names [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_f]April[/name_f] are commonly used month names but who’s to say [name_u]December[/name_u] can’t be
I’d love to see [name_u]December[/name_u] as a middle name! [name_u]October[/name_u] is one on my list, again in the middle spot. I don’t feel like I’m brave enough to use it as a first! I also tend to like a bit more vintage/spunky names paired with whimsical/fun middles.
For instance, I’d adore a little [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_u]December[/name_u] or [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_u]October[/name_u]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] a more classic name like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]December[/name_u] would be stunning to me!
I know an [name_u]October[/name_u], and it suits her beautifully.
So, I say go for it. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference would just be using it for a middle name, but I think it’s wearable as a first!
I like it! It’s very quirky, but I’m seeing [name_u]October[/name_u] and even [name_u]November[/name_u] considered more and more, so why not [name_u]December[/name_u]? There are a couple of more mainstream nickname options too, like [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_f]Demi[/name_f], [name_u]Ember[/name_u], if she ever felt it was too much. Personally, I’d use it in the middle but I’d love to see it used!
I think it could work. I’ve heard names even more “out there”.
I think all Month names are valid to use as a name. I like [name_u]October[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]March[/name_u] and [name_u]July[/name_u], but they aren’t style.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of [name_u]Berry[/name_u] as a nn for [name_u]December[/name_u]. It gives off quite the vibe
I could see it. It’s nms, personally, but I do think it has a nice sound to it. And I definitely think that with a nickname or two, it could work. (The nickname ideas you posted in NotD were adorable!) And I do love that it is meaningful to you.
I really like the name [name_u]December[/name_u]! Could be odd if she happened to be born in, say, [name_u]July[/name_u], but I think it makes a fantastic name!
I think it’s super cute for a girl! I actually really like it. There’s also really good nn potential, [name_f]Essie[/name_f] and [name_u]Ember[/name_u] are my favourite nns
