Hi! I’ve been playing around with some of my favorite first-middle combinations (and in some cases double names!) with Kate. I’d love some help narrowing the options down further. Or maybe you have some other ideas that I haven’t considered? (Double names are indicated by *.)
So far, I have:
Greta Kate (Is Katherine or Kathleen better with this one?)
*Eliza Kate
Sophia Kate
*Lucy Kate
*Anna Kate
Audrey Kate
Willa Kate
*Molly Kate
*Josie Kate
Eliana Kate
Eva Kate
Vera Kate
Delaney Kate
Lyla Kate
Amelia Kate
Riley Kate (unusable due to a friend using a rhyming first name)
Eleanor Kate
Sienna Kate
Gracie Kate
Regan Kate
Madeline Kate ( with either the full name or a nickname that isn’t Maddie)
[name_f]My[/name_f] top 5 are: [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] but I do think [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] sound a little better. I’m leaning [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] of the two because I love [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] and am really happy to see it on someone’s list and I like how the sweeter ending helps to balance the strong, sharper sounds of [name_f]Greta[/name_f].
I think my favorite is either [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f].
@sammaegre Thank you so much for this! I am loving your thoughts about [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]. I realized that [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] sounds very similar to the word dedicate, so that’s not ideal. I think there is something so special about [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], I love the idea of using [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] now too. Thank you again!
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] would be lovely! And you could call her [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] as a nickname. I also like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f].
Thank you so much! [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is one of my absolute favorite names, and I’m very hopeful that I’ll be able to use it one day. I think it would pair beautifully with [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] would also work really well with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I love the spunk of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] (I’ve met someone with this name, and she is a spitfire, so I think that’s where the association comes from) with either the elegance of [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] as a ful name, or the unexpectedness of a nickname that isn’t [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]!
Thank you so much! [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] are honor names. I love the idea of using names that have some big personality, but still evoke the love I have for so many important people in my life. I’m strongly considering using [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Molly[/name_f] for my grandma. I know I want to use at least one honor name. Now you have me thinking of using two!
Thank you so much! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] are too harsh in comparison to the others, or does Kate/Katherine soften them enough?
I really appreciate your feedback, thank you again!
Thank you so much! I honestly have never made the [name_u]Will[/name_u] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] connection with [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. I know the traditional way of spelling [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] is [name_f]Lila[/name_f], but I just like the y better. It’s surprising because I’m not usually that way at all! I didn’t know if [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be too short, but I love both! And it’s so hard to choose between [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I’m very tempted to use both, preferably as siblings, but I think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] could work as a combination. I love it both ways, but something about this one feels unexpected! I’m glad I have time to make my decision!
@daisylily360 Thank you so much! I don’t know quite what it is, but there’s something I really like about [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (and Evie!!) They’re both classy, but still cute on a little girl! And I would pronounce [name_f]Eva[/name_f] eeva.
