Like with my girls’ list, I keep flopping back and forth on which option should make my short list. Which do you like best? I think all fit pretty equally with my other boys’ names, but I think each fits better with some than others.
The only combo that’s set is [name]Boone[/name] [name]Isaiah[/name] [name]Leo[/name], I’m tossing around [name]Declan[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]/[name]Declan[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]/[name]Declan[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] and [name]Zane[/name] [name]Christian[/name] something or other, if that influences you at all. I love [name]Boone[/name] for [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Boone[/name] and [name]Zane[/name] would honor my dad and brother.
I really like all three! Like you, I think they all go well with your other names. I’ll put them in order that I love them and think they go with the others.
[name]Zane[/name] – Very handsome and cool all at once. It’s one of those names I can picture on any type of kid/adult.
[name]Boone[/name] – I love the old meaning of [name]Boone[/name] and think it has such a cool sound.
[name]Declan[/name] – I think it’s handsome, but I hear it so often on here and I just don’t think it fits nearly as well with your others as [name]Zane[/name] and [name]Boone[/name].
I think within the next few years there will be thousands of little [name]Declan[/name]'s running around. [name]Zane[/name] is a teen name right now. My vote is for [name]Boone[/name]. It is very cool, fresh and new. I like it best!
[name]Declan[/name] is getting a little too mainstream for my tastes, but I may feel influenced by its actual popularity because I know of two boys with this name. I also don’t think it’s fitting your cool and edgy-ish trend with the other two. [name]Declan[/name] feels a little on the nerdy side to me. In a cute way, but, still.
[name]Zane[/name] I like, although I do worry about it coming a little too close to the word “zany,” meaning weird/kooky, etc.
[name]Boone[/name] is one of those names that, being a name nerd very accepting of some pretty “out-there” and truly unusual names, I ought to like. Yet for some reason, I just don’t. I can’t really put my finger on it. Maybe because it reminds me of the [name]Boone[/name]'s Farm wine coolers I used to drink in college? Or that it’s the name of a road in the area where I live? I don’t know but I just have a hard time picturing it as a name you call a person. It flows off my tongue in a weird way, that more…tumbles than flows.
I know this isn’t what you were asking for since you have the [name]Boone[/name] name set, but I’d much prefer [name]Isaiah[/name] [name]Leo[/name] [name]Boone[/name]. I think that’s a great name.
ETA: I feel like I need to add a clarification. I don’t really like the name Boone for me and my tastes (for weird reasons I can’t quite figure out), but if I were to hear of someone choosing the name, I would think that’s really cool. It’s very unusual and I bet my first thought would be that the parents must be name nerds who refuse to follow trends which would make me immediately appreciate it that much more.
I think I like [name]Zane[/name] best. It’s so handsome and cowboyish. [name]Zane[/name] [name]Christian[/name] [name]Leo[/name] or [name]Zane[/name] [name]Christian[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] are my favorite combos.
I go back and forth on [name]Declan[/name]. My fiance really likes it, but I see it on here so much, I’m kind of burnt out on it. Someone suggested the nickname [name]Dex[/name] and that made me like it a little more, though.
[name]Boone[/name] is cool. I don’t think I’ve ever met one. I don’t know yet whether or not I like it. I think I have to sit with it for a while.
[name]Boone[/name] is out. Again. haha. I’ve loved it for so long, but I think I’m kind of burned out with it. I had axed it, but was giving it a second chance here, but I really am done with it. For now, at least. We part on pleasant terms, though. So now it’s between [name]Declan[/name] and [name]Zane[/name]. I know I’ll have it easier with a [name]Declan[/name] combo, but I’m not sure I actually love it more than [name]Zane[/name]. But then again, I have [name]Zane[/name] as a MN in [name]Asher[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Zane[/name], so maybe I don’t really need it as a FN, too. Hrm.
I love [name]Zane[/name]! It’s cute and works on a toddler, but I think it “ages” well too. I used to hate the name [name]Declan[/name], but now it’s just ok. It’s a fine name, just NMS. I really don’t like [name]Boone[/name] TBH. It sounds a little… country? I don’t know. [name]Just[/name] really NMS at all, sorry.
Between [name]Zane[/name] and [name]Declan[/name], definitely [name]Zane[/name]. I don’t understand [name]Declan[/name] to be honest. Nothing in the sound or feel of the name is appealing to me.
