[name]Declan[/name] is my second choice right now, my first is [name]Bodhi[/name]. I love the meaning ‘Full of goodness’. I’m half Irish so I like Irish names too. It took me awhile to come to like it, I think the movie “Leap Year” helped it a bit. :> I also read on parents connect’s name survey that one [name]Declan[/name] said his mother nicknamed him ‘Duckling’, which I think is SOOO adorable!! My worry is that it seems to be moving up the charts every year, and since I have a common last name, that’s a bad thing for me.
I love the name [name]Declan[/name], but the only ones I’ve ever met a really naughty lol!
[name]Love[/name], [name]LOVE[/name] the name!
Sheflieswithherownwings, I had to chuckle about your comment. I knew one [name]Declan[/name], and he was very naughty. He also made me reconsider the name, but I love it too much. I also love [name]Rory[/name] and have known two, and they were pretty wild acting.
I love it. If I had had another son, it would be on my list. (I really should add it to my signature).
First heard it about 10 years ago when I heard a parent yell it out at my son’s soccer game.
There are not gazillions of boys with this name, not yet anyway.
I really like the idea of [name]Declan[/name], called [name]Dex[/name]!
i do not like it at all.
I love [name]Declan[/name], its a very old Irish name & I always think of it as quite upper class. Very cute & underused
I like it - it’s strong and classy but not too serious.
My youngest brothers name is [name]Declan[/name], and he is wonderful. I would definitely recommend this name.
[name]Declan[/name] is a great name. I have like it for at least 15 years. I love gaelic names. I adore the nn [name]Dex[/name] for it.
Only negative comment: My daughter hates the name- apparently it’s a ‘nerdy weirdo name’. [name]Every[/name] time I mention liking the name [name]Declan[/name] she replaces the e with an i and repeats it back to me. [name]Don[/name]'t know if this makes it teasable?
I guess it could, but then again even if you called them a very classic name kids would tease something else about the child if they want to.
