Declining in popularity name?

I really like the name [name_f]Katie[/name_f] (but dislike [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]) but know [name_f]Katie[/name_f] is falling out of favour- is a name that is declining in popularity fast still usable? Or would I regret it? I have other names I like but I just love the feel and style of [name_f]Katie[/name_f]…

[name_f]Katie[/name_f] is such a lovely name! Tailored, sweet, and classic. I think it’s definitely usable, because it is still recognizable and does not feel dated. In fact, its declining popularity might be a plus: Fewer other children with the same name! If you love it, you definitely won’t regret it.

I’d say definitely go for it! I think if you love a name, once she’s here, you won’t be thinking about how popular it is on the charts, or worry that it’s going out of style, because it’ll be your little girl’s name! I agree with pp about the declining popularity maybe being a plus - less other kids with the same name, but still easily recognizable!
Also, with Katherine at 105, Catherine at 198, Caitlyn at 345, Katie at 409, I think it will still feel like there are enough other Katies around! I would actually more steer clear from the name if Katie was shooting up!

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Kate[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is very classy and could give her room to grow. [name_f]Katie[/name_f] is sweet but I think its very little girl. I guess its working for [name_f]Katy[/name_f] [name_u]Perry[/name_u] though! I like it better spelled [name_f]Katy[/name_f]. I think its s little more mature to me than [name_f]Katie[/name_f] if you’re not going with [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f].

[name_f]Katie[/name_f] is a classic! In my experience, using a classic name that is temporarily out of favor is the best of both worlds. It is familiar, recognizable and well-liked, but your daughter probably won’t one of many. My own real name is a long-established classic that was out of style when I was born (similar to [name_f]Anne[/name_f]), but has since gained in use. I think this a good kind of name to have.
