I would love to hear some names that are either deer-related by meaning or names like [name_u]Roe[/name_u] (species of deer) and even translated into another language other than [name_f]English[/name_f].
[name_m]Even[/name_m] names that make you think of Deer - like [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] makes me think of Gazelles and they look similar to the Deer species
T.I.A Lysia (apparently currently obsessed with woodland critters since my last Topic was about [name_u]Bear[/name_u] names for boys )
[name_f]Fawn[/name_f] was my first thought, but I also know of a little girl with the middle name [name_f]Doe[/name_f]. So with that reference, why couldn’t you also use Buck?!
[name_u]Axis[/name_u] (species of deer)
Fallow (species of deer)
[name_u]Rein[/name_u] (like reindeer)
Bull (like a bull elk)
[name_u]Roe[/name_u] (like you mentioned)
Rusa (another species)
Sika (species)
Andean (species variety)
[name_u]Marsh[/name_u] or [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] (where you might see a deer)
[name_f]Valley[/name_f]
[name_u]Forest[/name_u]
And why not Deer on its own?!
** edited to add, I love @wishmay suggestion of [name_u]Reed[/name_u], deer backwards!!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite deer name is [name_u]Raleigh[/name_u] for a boy. I also have a strong association with [name_f]Nara[/name_f], the Japanese city where deers have learned to bow before taking food from park visitors.
[name_m]Ayal[/name_m], [name_f]Ayala[/name_f], [name_f]Ayelet[/name_f], and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] are my favorite deer-related names. I also saw Gzala recently and thought it was cool.
