I hope you all are well despite recent events. Today, I’d love it if you could tell me which of these nameberry classic is your ultimate favorite! Which would you choose, and why?

I love both! However, my favorite is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] because I love the simple, feminine, elegance of the name and the beautiful floral connection! I appreciate that violets are a symbol of humility for the Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f].

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] !! It sounds much sweeter to me and it doesn’t have any of Violet’s negative qualities (namely how it sounds similar to “violent” and “violate”). It’s also less popular which I appreciate.

[name_f]Violet[/name_f]. It feels a little more timeless to me, though I couldn’t tell you exactly why.

Honestly both are at a similar level for me…I like both but neither are my faves. I would lean towards [name_f]Violet[/name_f] mostly for the floriography meaning of ‘enduring love’ but the issues with [name_f]French[/name_f] the word for rape put me off. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] I never used to like but it’s grown on me, but it’s still sort of a meh name for me.

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] all the way! While still popular, [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] feels a little fresher to me than [name_f]Violet[/name_f] does, and has a much softer autumnal feel.

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]! It has such a warm, cozy, knitting by the fire feeling, but also naturey (is that a word?)

I love both but [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is a more consistent favorite! I love the et ending, the nn versatility (Vivi, [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Lettie[/name_f], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], Vi!). Plus purple is my favorite and was my grandmother’s favorite color… I love purple names (like [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] because of that).

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] is cute but I also hear Violent

And I the a little [name_m]Haze[/name_m] is so sweet as a nickname

I much prefer [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. I simply don’t like the sound of [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
