What do you think of Delaiah for a girl?

My first thought on reading it was that someone had mispelt [name]Delilah[/name] - sorry! Whe I looked more closely I would pronounce it de-lie-a? If so it sounds like d’ liar as in “the liar” which isn’t the greatest association! Sorry!

Thought you misspelled [name]Delilah[/name] as well. So, not a good idea.

I’m with betty and triceratops. It seems like a lifetime of correcting people… no fun!
[name]Delilah[/name] is nice, though.

Minus the momentary [name]Delilah[/name] confusion, I actually love it!

I’d rather put up with that than name my daughter after a prostitute.

Hmm. Sounds like delay-ah to me. I can’t get past the ‘delay’ sound, unfortunately.

[name]How[/name] about a version of [name]Delilah[/name] and Delaiah? [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Lila[/name] or [name]Layla[/name]/[name]Leila[/name] at all?

I’m not a fan of Delaiah and, even if you don’t actually choose [name]Delilah[/name], you’ll always have to put up with that association.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Delia[/name]? Which can stand on its own or be short for [name]Adelia[/name] or [name]Cordelia[/name]?

Or, [name]Dahlia[/name]?

I think this is a name that is constantly going to have to be corrected and explained.
