Delaine? Yes or no?

It is first off pronounced like “D-lane”. My husband suggested it tonight for out little girl, with the nickname of [name_u]Laney[/name_u] which happens to be a family name on both sides for us. Neither of us like the name [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] all that much, but [name_u]Delaine[/name_u] is actually growing on me. What is your opinion?!

Our other ides are:
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f]
[name_f]Carys[/name_f] (Which we love but will never use because of [name_m]Kaidan[/name_m])
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_u]Raleigh[/name_u] “[name_u]Ray[/name_u]-lee”
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]

Personally I really dislike it :L I don’t mean to offend you in anyway and I’m only 15 so not exactly experienced with naming kids but it sounds to me like one of those “white trash” names like Amylynn, [name_f]Kaylin[/name_f], Kaychanel, etc. It sounds like you took the name [name_u]Lane[/name_u] then wanted it to be more feminine so you added the De-
BTW. I’m not racist or anything it’s just that “white trash” is the term I’ve heard to describe those types of names…

Sorry :S for the rest of your list however:
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] beautiful name [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]LOVE[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - seems a bit old but still really pretty
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] - “white trash” version of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]??? I don’t know, it’s still very pretty
[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f] - If you use this I think it should definitely be spelled
[name_f]BronwEn[/name_f], as it is a Welsh name and should be spelled that way. Also, It will most likely still be pronounced by most as ([name_m]BRON[/name_m]-win)even though in my opinion (bron-WEN) is prettier. A similar name that I adore is [name_f]Arianwen[/name_f] meaning silver.
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f] - I don’t like it but then again I’m not a fan of one syllable names for girls. [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] is the only one that I like.
[name_f]Carys[/name_f] - I know both a [name_f]Carys[/name_f] and a [name_f]Cerys[/name_f] and I prefer the latter. I think it’s because the E is pronounced [name_f]AIR[/name_f] making it a softer sounding name.
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] it such a pretty nature name. This is my friend’s name and we call her [name_u]Lorrie[/name_u] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] - I don’t dislike it but I wouldn’t use it. Personally I like classic names and this one just doesn’t do it for me.
[name_u]Raleigh[/name_u] “[name_u]Ray[/name_u]-lee” - …Not a fan :frowning: If you’re going to pronounce it [name_f]Raylee[/name_f] then you should spell it that way but then, to me, it’s another “white trash” name
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] - I love this name  It’s very sweet and feminine however I think it should a be a nickname so that when she’s older she can use her full name in the workplace if she so wishes

Sorry if I offended you :S

Close but it’s actually an ‘eh’ sound with a Welsh accent.

[name_u]Delaine[/name_u]'s not bad. The problem is that you have so many more beautiful names on your list!

Best of luck!
