Hi everyone!
I used to think Josie (Joze-ee) was quite down to earth feeling, but lately I’ve been worried the opposite, that it’s a little prissy sounding. Mostly thinking of Josie Pye from AOGG which obviously isn’t a dealbreaker as she’s quite a minor character, but nonetheless, brings an association of sorts (despite me having a far nicer association to override it with).
Do you think Josie is more prissy sounding (I generally don’t like those kind of names), or was my first assessment that it was down to earth. Please let me know, thank you!

I don’t think so! It feels quiet down to earthly kind to me.

No, [name_u]Josie[/name_u] to me is a neutral sort of name and has a down-to-earth stability. Unless you pair it with [name_u]Josie[/name_u] Pye or someone else who is a bit on the pretentious side, it comes off as comfortable and unbothered (but in an iconic sort of way :nail_care:).

No, I actually think of it as the opposite.

Thank you! You’ve definitely reassured me on this matter. Definitely not worried about [name_u]Josie[/name_u] sounding prissy anymore - and I’m glad other people think it doesn’t sound as such.

No! She is lovely, grounded, and vintage-sweet. I do think of [name_u]Josie[/name_u] Pye, but honestly, that association isn´t a bad one in my mind. After all, she´s from AOGG, and actually is a complex character who has her own ups and downs. She can be stuck up and jealous, but she also has some spunk and and love deep down, which lends itself to the name!

[name_u]Josie[/name_u] is a name that I would see on a person that is very kind and thoughtful, but also a little stubborn and knows what she wants. I do get a responsible, down to earth feeling!

I don’t think it’s prissy! More cosy and warm with a bit of sass :slight_smile:

It has a girly feeling for me but not necessarily prissy.

[name_u]Josie[/name_u] is more down to earth, and quite simple actually. It definitely isn’t stuffy and arrogant (yes, some names can seem arrogant)

Definitely not prissy to me! It has sort of a tomboy feel to me but that is probably due to the ones I know personally.

Nah, neither [name_u]Josie[/name_u] I knew in school was prissy so that’s definitely not the vibe I get. Down to earth with a little bit of sweetness.

Nope, not at all! [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is fun, peppy, and relaxed!

This kind of vibe: :art::tulip::sunny:

@lilyofthevale I love [name_u]Josie[/name_u], and it’s a name that I’m strongly considering using in the future. It’s a really joyful name to me. I actually went to school with someone who was just [name_u]Josie[/name_u]. It wasn’t short for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], but I never really thought much about the name when I knew her. It fit her well because she was confident and spunky, but the general opinion of the name [name_u]Josie[/name_u] that I have now isn’t based on her. She was more an acquaintance than a friend, I never knew her well, but had several classes with her.

I see [name_u]Josie[/name_u] as a down-to-earth name given to a girl who is kind and friendly. She’s also independent and unafraid to speak her mind.

I hope this helps!
