Delilah or Eliza

Which is nicer and why? I love them both in such different ways, it would be nice to hear other perspectives. I’ll add a poll too, but feel free to comment…

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]! [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is smart, sparky, and has a nice historical feel. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is pretty, but the overwhelming association is the woman in the Bible who betrayed [name_m]Samson[/name_m].

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for me. I love the balance of soft and spiky sounds, and it’s a spunky classic that feels both feisty and demure. Very versatile.

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is bouncy, bright and beautiful but feels like more of a one-dimensional choice. It’s all soft sounds and pretty, girly, high-energy bubbliness. Which is a lovely feel to have but it lacks the flexibility and solidity of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for me.

I prefer [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. I love the Z sound in it which makes it feel more fun. [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is a fine name but I just personally don’t like it. The repeated L sounds slightly mumbly to me.

I greatly prefer [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. It has a pretty, poetic sound to it. And while I personally just don’t find [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] appeal at all, I would still pick [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] over most other names.

[name_m]Ah[/name_m] that’s so hard! I like the sharp, bright sound of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. I love the confident, melodic sounds of [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] - alongside the nn [name_u]Dell[/name_u]!

I think ultimately, I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] more as a first name and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] as a middle

definitely eliza! it’s sweeter, more vintage, and more elegant.

Both sound beautiful, but I prefer [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] simply because of the negative Biblical association with [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
