I was just wondering which is your favourite form of the name really.
I like the Greek roots, the water connection and the pretty sound.
I wonder if [name]Delphi[/name] sounds a little too childish for a professional adult. What do you think?
The addition of the ‘a’ in [name]Delphia[/name] somehow makes it seem a little more grown up.
[name]Delphine[/name] is more sophisticated perhaps…
My fave version of this name is [name]Delphine[/name] by far. I think this French version is elegant, classy, romantic as well as sophisticated. [name]Delphi[/name] would be a cute nn but I don’t find it substantial enough for a given name. [name]Delphia[/name] is ok but I’m not crazy about it as it looks like a short form of [name]Philadelphia[/name]. [name]Delphina[/name]/[name]Delfina[/name] are a little too frilly for my taste. In my opinion, [name]Delphine[/name] strikes the right balance between strength and femininity. Regards, [name]Mischa[/name].
Another big vote for [name]Delphine[/name]. An elegant, classy name, and I love the potential for the super cute & bouncy nickname [name]Fifi[/name]. I am also drawn towards french feeling names.
But I quite like [name]Delphia[/name] as well.
[name]Delphi[/name] doesn’t work for me at all.
Too much associated with a place. And [name]Delphina[/name] somehow feels bland compared to the others.
[name]Delphine[/name] is v elegant. I think I am slightly put off by the fact that one of husband’s old bosses was called [name]Delphine[/name]. She was very nice so it wasn’t anything personal at all but she was always called ‘[name]Del[/name]’ which seems so unattractive compared to [name]Delphine[/name]. Is that an inevitable nn do you think?
abelle- I love your top 10 names!
[name]Camille[/name], [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Viola[/name] are all on mine too and [name]Flora[/name] was until recently. I like all of the others except perhaps [name]Henrietta[/name] as I love [name]Henry[/name] so much more. I like your boy’s names too although I don’t tend to get quite as excited about boy’s name
