[name]Delphi[/name] [[name]DEL[/name]-fee] has been stuck in my head for a few days. I’ve not been able to round the name out myself and so I’ve come to you all! I’m a fan of two middle names, but it’s not necessary.
[name]Delphi[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] is my favorite by far. If you wanted to add in that second middle, I like [name]Tulip[/name] from your choices. However, I wouldn’t use a name as out there as [name]Tulip[/name] if it didn’t mean something to me. For instance [name]Jonquil[/name] is a name that’s very uncommon, but I like it because it’s my mother’s favorite flower and because there are tons of Jonquils blooming every [name]March[/name] where I was born and raised. To me that warrants the use of a name that will be deemed strange or weird by others.
That is something to keep in mind with this name. I know a few people pronounce it del-fy, but a majority that I’ve heard pronounce it del-fee. This might be a regional thing. I’ll have to poll and do a bit of research before I try to get DH onboard.
Tulips actually do have a bit of meaning for us. It was the first flower my DH ever gave to me and one that he continues to give me as time passes. I have a fondness for them.
That’s the perfect example of what I was talking about! If you told me your daughter’s name was [name]Delphi[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Tulip[/name] I would automatically want to know why you chose it. What’s the story? I know most people won’t, but even if you never tell anyone else, it can be something special for your daughter when she’s older.
I like [name]Delphi[/name]! A lot. Not sure if I prefer, [name]Delphine[/name], [name]Delphina[/name] or [name]Delphinia[/name] NN [name]Delphi[/name] though. As in I’m not sure it’s ‘complete’
I also like [name]Tulip[/name] [name]Delphi[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] is my favourite combo from your list.
I did a bit of looking earlier and found del-fee to be used more often outside of the United States and [name]Canada[/name]. I’m not saying one is right or one is wrong, they’re both legitimate pronunciations.
