I discovered this name a few years back and immediately fell in love. I soon found out, there are many spelling variations so it’s hard to choose which one I like over the others. I even experimented and spelled [name]Demetri[/name] the way I envisioned it and came up with Demitry or Demetry. I even like the spelling [name]Demetre[/name] but I think it would encounter some problems with pronunciation. Here are other spellings of [name]Demetri[/name] I found
I like [name]Demetri[/name] and [name]Dmitri[/name]. Those are my favorites. [name]Dmitri[/name] seems really Russian and I love it so much, and [name]Demetri[/name] makes me think of [name]Demeter[/name] because the spelling is so close so that’s great for honors sake.
Besides that, I’m okay with Demitri but it doesn’t look as good to me and I pronounce all the ones with Y at the end like de-mee-try instead of de-mee-tree
[name]Dmitri[/name] is my favourite. It’s what I’m most used to from Dmitris I’ve known (and yes, I’ve actually known like half a dozen or so - lots of Greeks and Russians in my hometown) and I don’t mind its shortness. It feels smooth and self-contained.
I dislike [name]Demetri[/name] because most of the Dmitris I’ve known go by 'Mitri at least sometimes, and I think people would read Metri as more like “metric” or “metro” and that’s not nearly as attractive.
