There’s this bad guy that happens to be a several hundred year old demon in the novel I’m writing, and I originally had the name [name]Keir[/name], but I feel it doesn’t really fit with him. I’m looking for something on the darker side, I just can’t seem to come up with anything good.
Are looking at an actual name that just sounds dark, like [name]Valdemar[/name], or a more unusual verging on made up name, like Clith?
I’m kind of looking for something that has the meaning of evil or violence or darkness or something along those lines.
Ok, how 'bout:
[name]Adrian[/name]-dark one
[name]Braeden[/name]-from the dark valley
[name]Bran[/name]-raven
[name]Corbin[/name]-raven
[name]Daren[/name]-born at night
[name]Hadrian[/name]-dark one
Those are just a few…here’s the link to where i found them:

I kind of like the sound of [name]Adrian[/name] and [name]Daren[/name].
I’ve always liked the name [name]Adrian[/name], myself…
Ooooo this reminds me of The Mortal Instruments series!
[name]Blake[/name]- can mean either black or pale
[name]Doyle[/name]- dark stranger
[name]Duncan[/name]- brown warrior
[name]Donovan[/name]- little dark brown one
[name]Duane[/name] – little and dark
Melanchthon – black earth
[name]Nigel[/name] – black
http://ugweb.cs.ualberta.ca/~joanna/misc.html This is a great list
Catahecassa-[name]Black[/name] Hoof (I really like what it means. I promise i did not make this name up. Maybe you could shorten it, but this be his actual Name, if that makes sense?)
Inali-[name]Black[/name] [name]Fox[/name]
Kistna-[name]Black[/name]
Braith-[name]Black[/name] and White
Siyavash-[name]Black[/name] Bull
Kione- Someone who comes from nowhere
Jolon- [name]Valley[/name] of the dead oaks
I wrote something a little like this a while ago about a 17 year old demon who is the son of the devil. I used the name [name]Blake[/name] because it had a dark meaning while still being modern.
Ramiel.
It means “thunder of God”. It’s the name of a fallen [name]Angel[/name] in the book of [name]Enoch[/name]. You can Wikipedia it. [name]Ram[/name] would be an okay nickname.
[name]Just[/name] becareful not to spell it Remiel. That’s actually a different [name]Angel[/name]… an unfallen one!
[name]Caesar[/name]. [name]Just[/name] because.
I like the suggestion of [name]Blake[/name], too. I still like [name]Adrian[/name], just because, well, I like [name]Adrian[/name] in general.
