I am struggling to find THE name for our little boy bundle. He has a big brother called [name_m]Edmund[/name_m].
I thought we were set on [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] but then I started to have doubts, particularly concerning spelling and pronunciation issues ([name_m]Alistair[/name_m]/Alastair? Still can’t decide which one I prefer which leaves me wondering whether I really love it )
And now just to make matters all the more complex, I’m really liking [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]
Which do you prefer with brother [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]?
~ [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] ~
~ [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] ~
Both great options!
I prefer [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]. I much prefer nn Roo to nn [name_m]Al[/name_m]. That’s what put [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] in the lead for me
Thanks so much! That’s a great point about the nicknames. I definitely prefer Ru as well. I’ve never been a fan of [name_m]Al[/name_m] either. And I suppose I really can’t control what his friends may potentially end up calling him so best to steer clear of a name that will bring about a despised nickname. Lol
Oooh, really?? This excites me that you already had [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] paired as siblings! That’s most reassuring You have a lovely taste in names, btw
Edmund and [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]!! [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] is brilliant! You might also like [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] - the ruggedness of [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] and the sounds and sweetness of [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]
Both are great options with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]! I think I’m leaning I teeny bit more towards [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]. And for what it’s worth, I prefer the [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] spelling.
Alistair is still my favorite name for [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]’s little brother! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have a middle name picked out? What about [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] or [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]?
I love [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] too, but [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] & [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] just sound like brothers to me!! They’re both so handsome, sweet, and adventurous. [name_u]Rue[/name_u] is such a cute nickname, too!
I love the suggestion of [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]!
I so appreciate your input, thoughts and suggestions
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is beautifully magical but I’d never be able to get my husband to like this one, unfortunately. I love classic [name_m]Peter[/name_m] but it’s not a name we’d like to use this time around for this little one.
It’s definitely out of [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] and [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]/Alastair
I still love [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Alister[/name_m] together. I think [name_m]Al[/name_m] is a nickname that a boy can grow into , and that ages well.
While I like [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] it reminds me of a 90’s cartoon my sisters used to watch. Ru is a cute nickname but not one that ages well.
Go with what you guys love. Maybe you will have clarity when you see him !
I think both are really nice with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]. I probably would say [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] is slightly better as a style match, but I don’t think that’s a good reason to choose it over [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]. [name_m]Ruben[/name_m]/Rueben is one my my personal favorites and I think I would be great with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]. But it is more common than either of your current top choices.
Maybe you can wait til you meet your baby boy to see if he’s more of a [name_m]Rupert[/name_m] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] or an [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]
