I am now pushing 27 weeks with a boy (our first!). We already have two girls named [name]Sabrina[/name] and [name]Miranda[/name]. [name]Both[/name] names came to me from movies that were constantly replaying during my pregnancy that at first I wasn’t crazy about but soon grew to love. I loved how feminine they were, not too popular but not unheard of either and our families are all about nicknames. [name]Sabrina[/name] is Sab, [name]Brina[/name] or [name]Bree[/name] and [name]Miranda[/name] is [name]Mira[/name], [name]Mimi[/name], [name]Randa[/name], or [name]Randy[/name].
Boy names have always been tough for us (which is part of the reason we always find out the sex). Names I liked when I was pregnant with [name]Sabrina[/name] (who just turned 5) are no longer appealing.
Names I like right now are
[name]Emmett[/name]- my front runner (because it keeps coming to me in various ways and at first I didn’t like it)
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Jason[/name]
Our last name sounds like Rolls so a lot of names I do like sound terrible with our last name.
The names hubby likes are [name]Damian[/name] and [name]Bodhi[/name]. [name]Damian[/name] is ok but I don’t love it enough to not care about the stigma it carries nevermind the fact that is sounds a bit feminine to me for some reason. [name]Bodhi[/name], I flat out hate.
The only names we are both ok with is [name]Erik[/name] and [name]Alek[/name]. But I am not in love with [name]Alek[/name] and [name]Erik[/name] is my cousin’s name. I really want him to have his “own” name within our family and friend circle which leaves out a lot
[name]David[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Mark[/name]
[name]John[/name]/[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Aaron[/name]
[name]Nicholas[/name]
[name]Ian[/name]
[name]Evan[/name]
[name]Logan[/name]
[name]Justin[/name]
[name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Jacob[/name]
[name]Nathan[/name]
[name]Colin[/name]
[name]Adam[/name]
[name]Sean[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Kevin[/name]
[name]Dominic[/name]
Any suggestions? I would like something that invokes a gentle strength, something that works for all stage of life, not too popular but not unheard of either. Nickname is not mandatory because I am sure someone will come up with something for the little guy whether we like it or not.
