Desperate!! Need MN help!

Ok, we are now getting desperate to decide on a middle name for our third son [name_u]Oakley[/name_u], due in [name_u]July[/name_u]. My hold up is, I would like to use a family name but none of them I really like. When I yell my kids whole name out at a baseball game or something, I want it to sound good! Lol. My other boys are [name_m]Tanner[/name_m] [name_m]Graham[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u].

Family name options for [name_u]Oakley[/name_u]:
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] (don’t like the name)
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (don’t like the initials OJ)
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] (too girly?)
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] (means the most, but don’t like name)
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] (don’t like name)
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Jesse[/name_u] (same End sound, OJ again)

If we didn’t do a family name, which my other two sons have, I think I would like a name that starts with a C because I like the idea of calling him O.C. Something like [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Cy[/name_m]. Suggestions??

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I like [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] and [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] sounds pretty cool too. It sounds a lot stronger to me than [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Cy[/name_m]. I also think if the first two have family names as middle names then stick to it.
[name_u]Taylor[/name_u] is a bit girlish, I always think of [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] Swift right away. [name_m]How[/name_m] about making [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] out of it or just [name_m]Ty[/name_m] which is similar to [name_m]Cy[/name_m] but you can still say it’s after the family name [name_u]Taylor[/name_u].
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Ty[/name_m] or [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Tay[/name_u] or [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] maybe?

[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_f]Carlen[/name_f]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Carlton[/name_m]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Chester[/name_m]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Chance[/name_m]

I don’t think [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] is girly at all

[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] sounds the best and isn’t too girly but then again this is the person who likes [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] for a boy

I like

[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]

First I would like to say congrats and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Oakley[/name_u]!!! And [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u] is super cool!

I like [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] out of your family names. I personally don’t think having the first and middle initials as OJ is a big deal.

I don’t mind [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] and I don’t think it’s “too girly” but could see people reading it and not knowing if the name is for a boy or girl – but obviously once someone knows him that wouldn’t matter.

I really like [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], but I understand wanting to use a family name.

I would personally stick with a family name, since your other kids have them.

I love [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] & [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m]. The initials OJ don’t bother me and [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] is an awesome middle name. If you don’t like [name_m]Freeman[/name_m], then what about just [name_u]Free[/name_u]. [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Free[/name_u] sounds pretty cool.

If you can do some mixing and matching, how about combining [name_m]Carl[/name_m] and [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] to Cree? [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] Cree sounds awesome.

Other tweaks

[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Ward[/name_m] (for [name_m]Edward[/name_m])
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] (for [name_u]Taylor[/name_u])

I love the name [name_u]Oakley[/name_u].

[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is fine
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] I like too.
I understand your desire for C. So I searched for boys names that mean free. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] means free as do many others. I do like having a clear boys name with a more unisex first.

My favorites are [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u].

Other suggestions:
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Sean[/name_m]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Shane[/name_u]

I think a one-syllable middle name would work well to mirror your other sons’ names. I like the suggestion of [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Ward[/name_m] as an option. Here are some other one-syllable C options, not including [name_m]Cy[/name_m] which you already mentioned: [name_m]Clyde[/name_m], [name_u]Claude[/name_u], [name_u]Cal[/name_u], [name_u]Cai[/name_u], [name_m]Cole[/name_m], and [name_m]Clark[/name_m].

I definitely don’t think [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] is too girly and it’s actually my favorite of all the ones you listed. I also like [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Freeman[/name_m] and think [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m] is good too, especially if you like the O.C. initials. Another option would be to use [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u]. Sure it’s your other son’s middle name but since it’s a family name I think it’s totally acceptable. I have the same middle name as one of my sisters because when she came around it was the one that went with our naming tradition that my parents liked best with her first name and it never bothered either of us.

I really like the suggestion of [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Ward[/name_m]. It honors [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and is a one-syllable mn like your other sons have.

In the same vein, I like the suggestion of [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_u]Tay[/name_u] (honoring [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]).
