Desperate to fall in love with a girl name!! Audrey's sister

I’m not trying to be picky but I’m completely and totally flummoxed on finding a name that I love. [name]Sister[/name] to [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Wynne[/name] due in just 8 weeks and I’m starting from scratch! I’d like to find a 2 syllable feminine name with some pizazz, or uniqueness, or distinctiveness. The names that seem to match [name]Audrey[/name] and that I actually like are soooo popular ([name]Sophie[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Isabel[/name], [name]Claire[/name], etc) and that’s a negative for me. I’d sooooo love some fresh inspiration and insight. Frankly, the dilemma is starting to get me a bit down and I’m really wanting to counter that and just be excited about the new baby! A name that I love would be such a boon.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Harriet[/name]? Ok, it has 3 syllables, but i love it and think it goes with [name]Audrey[/name] well!

Other suggestions would be:

[name]Olive[/name] (rather whan [name]Olivia[/name] - love it!!)

[name]Audrey[/name] and

[name]Sybil[/name] or [name]Sybella[/name]

I love [name]Audrey[/name]! Are you only looking for names with two syllables?

[name]Lucy[/name] (same ending sound as [name]Audrey[/name], though…)
[name]Phoebe[/name] (matching eee ending sound with [name]Audrey[/name], though…)
[name]Violet[/name] (I’m trying to figure out if I pronounce [name]Violet[/name] with two or three syllables…Hmmm…)

I think I can even see [name]Camille[/name] or [name]Simone[/name] with [name]Audrey[/name]…

Longer names:

[name]Eliza[/name] (then again, [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn starred as [name]Eliza[/name] Doolittle, so it may seem like an [name]Audrey[/name] tribute…)

[name]Don[/name]'t worry! You’ll find the perfect name!

Good luck!

I have nothing new to suggest, but I will say that I love previous suggestions of [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name].

Two syllables, feminine, not too common.
[name]How[/name] about…

Sorry for any repeats

[name]Norah[/name] (my fave!)
[name]Celie[/name] (pronounced see-lee)

[name]Audrey[/name] and…

[name]Calandra[/name] nn [name]Callie[/name]
[name]Camille[/name] nn [name]Millie[/name] or [name]Cammie[/name]
[name]Colette[/name] nn [name]Coco[/name] or [name]Lettie[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name] nn [name]Liza[/name]*
[name]Eloise[/name] nn [name]Lola[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name], but [name]Ellie[/name] is very popular
[name]Frances[/name] - love nn [name]Francie[/name]
[name]Francine[/name] - love nn [name]Francie[/name]*

[name]Phoebe[/name] - love*
[name]Rosalie[/name] nn [name]Rosie[/name], [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Simona[/name] or [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Tilda[/name] could be a nn for [name]Matilda[/name]*

I starred my favorites.

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Steph[/name]!

Sorry for repeats, but here are some I would pair with [name]Audrey[/name]…

[name]Brier[/name] ([name]Briar[/name])
[name]Charlotte[/name] - MY PICK!
[name]Hazel[/name] - MY PICK!

I don’t know if you have a middle name picked yet, but here are some that complement [name]Wynne[/name] (Welsh, “fair, white, blessed”)…

[name]Brynn[/name] - Welsh - “hill”
[name]Cai[/name] - Welsh - “rejoice”
[name]Glynn[/name] - Welsh - “valley”
[name]Reese[/name] - Welsh - “running” - MY PICK!

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Audrey[/name] but I have to say that I have two girls, both with the “ee” sound at the end and it is slightly grating on the ear (and “cutesy” [name]IMO[/name]). Therefore, I like names that end in “a”:
[name]Stella[/name] / [name]Ella[/name]
[name]Even[/name] [name]Neve[/name]/ [name]Liv[/name]
Good luck!!

I’m so sorry to hear that your name search has gotten you down! I’m right there with you!

Here are some 2-syllable suggestions (and so sorry about the repeats and for any that are too popular for your taste):

[name]Audrey[/name] and…
[name]Marin[/name] ([name]MARE[/name]-in or MAH-rin)

Good luck!

When I think of [name]Audrey[/name] I think of [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn. I [name]LOVE[/name] old Hollywood names.

What about [name]Ginger[/name] as in [name]Ginger[/name] [name]Rogers[/name]? Spunky and effervescent and glamourous!

A couple of others:
[name]Ava[/name] ([name]Gardner[/name]) - too popular
[name]Greta[/name] ([name]Garbo[/name]) - love

The first names that come to mind when I think of [name]Audrey[/name]'s little sister are [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], and [name]Alana[/name]/[name]Elena[/name]. I love many of the names previous posters have mentioned too!

[name]Love[/name] the idea of [name]Greta[/name] with [name]Audrey[/name]!

Here are a couple more I missed:

There are repeats in this list, but only to indicate additional support for those names:

[name]Audrey[/name] and . . .

Most of these have already been suggested, but with [name]Audrey[/name] I love:

Good luck! I’m sure you’ll find a name you love by the time she arrives

I love the suggestions of [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Helen[/name] (makes me think of [name]Helen[/name] of [name]Troy[/name]), [name]Ingrid[/name], and [name]Greta[/name]. They all seem to fit your criteria, and all of them would be nice with [name]Audrey[/name]. My first thought on reading your post was “[name]Daphne[/name],” because that name always feels a little distinct and even a little quirky while being a “real” name. However, with the “ee” sound on the end, it might be a little cutesy with [name]Audrey[/name].

I just wanted to add another one to my list of suggestions. I was thinking that [name]Audrey[/name] sounds very nice with [name]Elise[/name] (or [name]Elyse[/name], as my middle name is spelled)…

Best wishes

[name]How[/name] about [name]Isla[/name]? That’s my daughter’s name and we were really considering [name]Audrey[/name] as a sister name for a good long time. I think we are going to go with [name]Brynn[/name] instead, but I stlil think [name]Isla[/name] & [name]Audrey[/name] sound great together! GL!
