Desperately desiring inspiration!

I have been going name CRAZY lately. I’ve posted on nameberry before but not with quite the same dilemma. I’m driving my husband nuts but I’m obsessed and now that I’m stuck, I feel like a junky who lost her fix. I have always loved names. I’ve been keeping lists and lists of names since elementary school(I’m sure many of you can relate). Now that I’m married, my lists have taken on a whole other light. There are 2 names, a boy name and a girl name that really set my world on fire. The problem now is that I very much want to find a middle name combo that has the same fire-setting effect. It’s really important to my husband and I that our children have two middle names.

The name for a girl is [name]Lyra[/name]. Pronounced LYE-ruh. It is a beloved character in the first book/series that my husband and I ever read together(we were both English majors so books are paramount in our relationship). We would like one of the middle names to be [name]Ann[/name], which is my middle name, my mother’s middle name and my grandmother’s middle name. I don’t care whether it is [name]Lyra[/name] ________ [name]Ann[/name] or [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Ann[/name] _________ but I really need inspiration on what that other middle name should be. If it helps, some of my favorite girl names include [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Violet[/name]/[name]Viola[/name], [name]Rowena[/name]/[name]Rowan[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]. Thanks!

The name for a boy is [name]Rupert[/name]. I’m American so it’s a pretty uncommon name, but my husband’s legal first name is [name]Robert[/name], as is his father’s. The name [name]Robert[/name] doesn’t set my world on fire, but the idea of honoring my husband and his history appeals to me, and it just so happens that the name [name]Rupert[/name] DOES set my world on fire. We would like one of the middle names to be [name]Gareth[/name], but again, which order than names go in doesn’t really matter. [name]Rupert[/name] [name]Gareth[/name] _________ or [name]Rupert[/name] ________ [name]Gareth[/name] are both fine but what is the missing piece of the puzzle?? Other favorite boy names include [name]Peter[/name], [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Xavier[/name], [name]Allan[/name], [name]Alastair[/name], and [name]Gideon[/name].

Also, I feel I should have included that our last name starts with an H, has three syllables and ends with the “ee” sound.

I would be so incredibly grateful for some feedback. As I said, I am completely obsessing, and I feel like if I could just find the right name to complete these names, I will stop being so insane!! Thank you so much for your help, Berries! I feel silly but I can’t let this go…

Hello again. Have to offer my two cents because I love your taste.

I think, for your [name]Lyra[/name] combo, names that end in an “ee” sound work best. [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Ann[/name], [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Ann[/name], and [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Ann[/name] all sound excellent. I’d avoid things that end in -a or -n because they either mush together with both names or sound to matchy with [name]Ann[/name]. [name]Violet[/name] also sounds odd because of the assonance with [name]Lyra[/name].

[name]Rupert[/name] and [name]Gareth[/name] are both fantastic! Most of your boy names flow well together. I think [name]Rupert[/name] [name]Gareth[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] and [name]Rupert[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] [name]Gareth[/name] are especially striking.

Hello  Thanks for offering your input. I really appreciate it. I got great feedback the first time I posted so I was hoping that if I asked for more specific advice, I might get it. So far it has paid off because your advice makes a lot of sense to me. [name]Do[/name] you have any names to suggest that aren’t based off of my favorites list? I’d be really interested to hear…
