[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I’ve been using Nameberry for ages, but this is actually my first post, so I hope I’m not doing anything wrong here!
A couple of friends and I will be partaking in a - sort of - writing exercise set in a world with magic, with a school for witches and wizards, all the lot. The characters will be mostly British (yeah it’s definitely [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] influenced :D:D ) and I really want my character’s name to be magical, maybe whimsical, with some sort of meaning or history… some things that could be connected to this character could be the themes of light, life, resurrection, healing, or even simply magical creatures like fairies or snakes… as you can see there’s a lot of ground for confusion here - sorry!
So far I’ve decided the first name, and the surname wasn’t decided by me, but here’s what I got so far:
[name_f]Nimue[/name_f] Malaspina-Fawley, commonly known as [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] Fawley.
The real problem is the middle name, which I honestly can’t seem to choose!
There are a lot of names that I like, but for some reason they either don’t seem to work with the first name and last name(s), or they don’t seem “magical” enough for me, I don’t even know anymore!

As you can see I’m terribly confused and in dire need of your help! I am open to any name suggestion or to any advice whatsoever, even if it’s just something vague to nudge me in the right direction. Please help!
[name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Titania[/name_f] is lovely. I have a few names, and I’m not sure how well you’ll like them, but I think [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] has a nice ring to it. [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] was the wife of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], after all.

And she doesn’t really need an unusual middle name. Take [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] for example, her middle name is [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and it goes great with her name. A “plain” name such as [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] may just be the best choice. Anyway, I really hope I helped at least a little, if at all.
Thank you so much for replying!! I liked a lot of your suggestions, my favourite definitely is [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], which, you’re right, sounds lovely when paired with [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]!
Also what you said about the name not necessarily needing to be unusual really made me think, and I think you’re right on this too - it would just be a matter of which names could work with [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]…

My first thought was [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_u]Adair[/name_u], which has a very magical/mysterious feel to me.
I too like the idea of a more “plain” middle to pair with [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]. [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]… Or perhaps a nature name? [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f], [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] [name_f]Lotus[/name_f]…
[name_u]Adair[/name_u] is such a cool name, I had never heard it before! It does really work with [name_f]Nimue[/name_f]… hmmmm… I also like some of your other suggestions, I love [name_f]Snow[/name_f] and I think that [name_f]Grace[/name_f] flows really well with [name_f]Nimue[/name_f] too…
