My husband and I have decided that the middle name for our little boy will be [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]. But we’re still debating over the first name. Which do you like better?
I really like both names! I’m a little more partial to [name_u]Devin[/name_u] though, and [name_f]IMO[/name_f] it works better with [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] as well. Good luck!
I would actually argue against this, at least in the USA. If you go to this link which uses the SSA statistics directly and put [name_m]Landon[/name_m] in there against [name_u]Devin[/name_u], you’ll see that [name_m]Landon[/name_m] not only peaked much higher than [name_u]Devin[/name_u] but also currently way more popular than [name_u]Devin[/name_u] is (6,987 vs. 1,164).
I much prefer [name_m]Landon[/name_m]. In Australia, [name_u]Devon[/name_u] is a lunch meat (I think it is the same as baloney), so [name_u]Devin[/name_u] makes me think of that.
Yes I definitely agree that [name_m]Landon[/name_m] is much more popular right now that [name_u]Devin[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Devin[/name_u] can feel more like a common name because it was so popular in the 90s and people may know more adults named [name_u]Devin[/name_u]. But I kind of like that it’s not as popular right now as that means he would probably be the only [name_u]Devin[/name_u] in his class. Whereas there could be several Landons.
Thanks everyone for your input! I agree with some of you that [name_m]Landon[/name_m] sounds slightly better with [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], but I’ve realized that it doesn’t sound great with our last name as they have a lot of similar sounds. It sounds a little too rhymey and I don’t love that. We still havent decided officially on [name_u]Devin[/name_u] although it is still a favorite. If you have any other suggestions of names that would go well with the middle name [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] I’d love to hear!
