I am really starting to like the nickname [name]Dex[/name] but do you think it could be used on its own? My husband likes [name]Dexter[/name], which I just can’t get totally on board with and I like [name]Declan[/name] but he doesn’t like it and I am kind of worried that it will become too popular and I can’t think of any other name to get the nickname [name]Dex[/name] from.
Would you use [name]Dex[/name] as a stand alone name? Big Brothers are [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Mack[/name] … do you think [name]Dex[/name] is too close to [name]Dash[/name]? I can probably convince my husband to use [name]Declan[/name] but do you think it that it will continue gaining popularity?
I think if the child is going to be called [name]Dex[/name], you should name him [name]Dex[/name]. I am not a fan of nicknames. Not too close to [name]Dash[/name]!
I’m not a fan of [name]Dex[/name] but it goes well with your sibset. No better or worse of a standalone name than [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Mac[/name].
I could see [name]Dex[/name] as a nickname for [name]Derek[/name]. I love [name]Declan[/name] too, and I have the same worries about popularity. I would never rule out a name I loved solely due to popularity though.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Dex[/name] as a stand-alone name, but I too am not a fan of [name]Dexter[/name] or any longer form. [name]Just[/name] [name]Dex[/name]! It goes perfectly with your other sons’ names.
I am a fan of [name]Dexter[/name], but I think [name]Dex[/name] is an awesome nickname/name. [name]Declan[/name] is great too, and I personally don’t see it getting super-popular but I think just [name]Dex[/name] goes best with his brothers.
I like [name]Dax[/name] as a standalone name. Feels French to me, not at all trendy, despite [name]Max[/name]'s popularity. [name]Dex[/name]… I knew someone in college who was addicted to dexedrine. His last name was [name]Dexter[/name], and everyone called him [name]Dex[/name]. I hear [name]Dex[/name] and I think dexedrine Sorry. I think [name]Dexter[/name] as a full name is very handsome, but I dislike the nickname.
Yes, I would definately use [name]Dex[/name] as a stand alone first name. I think it sounds hip, fresh, new, athletic for a boy, and very cool. Especially I don’t like [name]Dexter[/name] and I don’t think it is a close nn for [name]Declan[/name]. [name]IMO[/name] use [name]Dex[/name] by its self…very cool!
I love the name [name]Dex[/name], but I would personally definitely use it as a nickname for [name]Dexter[/name]. Having said that, your other children have short names that fit in with the “nicknamey” feel of [name]Dex[/name], so calling him just [name]Dex[/name] wouldn’t really feel out of place.
