What do you think? We love the name but not sure what others think

I just popped over to the board to see if The name [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] has popped up lately and here it is in the first spot!
We also love the name [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] and would also use the nn [name_m]Dex[/name_m] although not exclusively. I think it’s handsome, strong and playful at the same time. We have not been able to find anything that we both really love like this name.
[name_f]My[/name_f] only concern has been the association with The show [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] and the character.
In the end, if we have a boy, this is very likely going to be his name, but I love to hear other’s thoughts!
We would use [name_u]Brady[/name_u] as a mn since it’s a very important family name. Although I’m also keen on [name_u]James[/name_u], another family name. We’d likely use [name_u]Brady[/name_u] as a middle for any name though…
I adore [name_u]Dexter[/name_u]. I have [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m] and [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] on my list. I have never watched the show but finally did some research. We live in FL and the show is based in FL, I felt it might be too much. [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] would be in my top 5 if it weren’t for that show. I also adore the nickname [name_m]Dex[/name_m].

I have loved the name [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] for a long time. It sucks about that show about the serial killer. However, I didn’t watch it, and it is over now.

I love [name_u]Dexter[/name_u]! We have our list narrowed down between [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] and one other name for our son. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is worried about the association with the tv show also. Otherwise I think he would definitely be the front runner. If we don’t use it for this baby, we will most likely use it if we have another boy in the future.
We’re thinking [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] so he can share his middle name with his dad.

Makes me think of the fictional serial killer, but I did like the show and I do think the name is okay.
