So I’ve seen several of these and I decided to try and make one myself! Be warned, I’ve got zero clue what I’m doing.
For this game, a six-sided dice is required. Or a random number generator set to options between 1 and 6, which is basically the same thing.
These beginning instructions are kinda confusing. If you can’t be bothered dealing with them, then do your own thing.
Last Name: Starts with the same letter as the one that appears most in your full name (so in the case of ‘Eliane Tana’, for example, the surname starts with ‘A’. If your name has no repeating letters, choose a surname that starts with any letter in your full name. If you have multiple letters that repeat the same amount of times, choose one of them and go from there).
Parents’ Names: ‘Flip’ your name for whichever parent is the opposite gender to you (again using Eliane as an example, change ‘Eliane’ to ‘Elliott’ or ‘Elias’. For those who don’t identify as male or female, flip based on whether you’re AMAB or AFAB). So for me I’d have a father named something like Lucas Elliott. It doesn’t have to be 100% accurate, just the name that seems the most like a gender-swapped version of your name. As for the other parent? Do the same with the corresponding opposite parent (so with a father named Andrew James, I get a mother Andrea Jane).
You can absolutely just do your own thing instead of following all that, that’s definitely quite confusing. But I’m leaving it in anyway.
Anyway, as I follow this along to make sure I understand what’s happening, I get:
DH: Lucas Elliott Oldfield
DW: Andrea Jane Oldfield
Roll your six-sided dice twice. Add the numbers and that’s how many children you’ve got to name.
And I got…
Twelve.
I rolled two flipping sixes.
Anyway, the child’s gender is based on your roll. 1-3 for girls, 4-6 for boys.
For the namebank, I chose between 10-15 names with each letter when I could. It’s a long list, I’m aware. Most of the boys’ list has less names for the letter than the girls (and I might as well have skipped I for the boys entirely in the way I skipped X and Y for everyone…). But there’s still a pretty big selection. Spelling variations are fair game too. Like Amy/ Aimee, for example.
Girls: Ava, Amelia, Abigail, Addison, Audrey, Ariana, Autumn, Alice, Amaya, Aria, Anastasia, Arabella, Alyssa, Alexandra, Amy, Bella, Brooke, Bethany, Brianna, Blair, Bianca, Beatrice, Bree, Bailey, Beverly, Bliss, Brittany, Blythe, Blossom, Becca, Charlotte, Chloe, Camille, Cora, Caroline, Claire, Celeste, Cassidy, Caitlin, Catherine, Carmen, Casey, Cassandra, Cleo, Cadence, Crystal, Delilah, Daisy, Danielle, Daphne, Dahlia, Dream, Delaney, Destiny, Dorothy, Della, Desiree, Darcy, Diamond, Diana, Dawn, Emma, Ella, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Emily, Everly, Elena, Eva, Eliana, Emery, Eliza, Eden, Eloise, Ember, Elsie, Emmy, Elle, Esme, Evangeline, Erin, Faith, Freya, Felicity, Ferelith, Faustina, Fiona, Faye, Flora, Fleur, Francesca, Fern, Forever, Fia, Gianna, Grace, Genevieve, Gabriella, Georgia, Gemma, Giselle, Gwendolyn, Goldie, Gloria, Georgina, Ginevra, Gillian, Harper, Hazel, Hannah, Hailey, Holly, Harmony, Hope, Helena, Heidi, Honey, Harriet, Heather, Isabelle, Ivy, Iris, Isla, Ivory, India, Imogen, Izzy, Irene, Ida, Isa, Ireland, Isadora, Julia, Jade, Jasmine, Jordyn, Jewel, Juliette, June, Jane, Joy, Joanna, Jessica, Jennifer, Justice, Jacqueline, Judith, Kennedy, Kiara, Kylie, Kayla, Katie, Katherine, Kaia, Kate, Kenzie, Kimberly, Kamryn, Kara, Kairi, Luna, Layla, Lucy, Lily, Leah, Lillian, Lydia, Lilac, Lyra, London, Lana, Lara, Lauren, Lola, Lexi, Lizzie, Liana, Lyric, Lorelei, Leona, Liv, Louise, Laurel, Mia, Melanie, Molly, Madison, Maia, Melody, Madeleine, Millie, Matilda, Maeve, Michelle, Mariana, Maisie, Miracle, Nova, Nora, Natalie, Naomi, Nevaeh, Noelle, Nicole, Nina, Nadia, Natasha, Nadine, Olivia, Oaklynn, Octavia, Ophelia, Opal, Ocean, Ollie, Odette, Odessa, Olympia, Orla, Orchid, Penelope, Paisley, Primrose, Piper, Peyton, Parker, Pippa, Paige, Phoebe, Paris, Poppy, Pearl, Paula, Persephone, Priscilla, Promise, Pansy, Pamela, Quinn, Queen, Queenie, Riley, Rachel, Ruby, Rose, Remi, Raelynn, Reagan, Rosalie, Rain, Rowan, Rebecca, Raven, Ruth, Reina, Rosemary, Renata, Rainbow, Ramona, Rae, Sophia, Sadie, Scarlett, Skye, Serenity, Sara, Selena, Samantha, Summer, Sage, Sylvie, Thea, Teagan, Talia, Trinity, Tessa, Tara, Tiffany, Tiana, Tori, Tamara, Tallulah, Teresa, Tilly, Tanya, Una, Unique, Unity, Ursula, Ursa, Violet, Victoria, Valerie, Vivian, Vera, Verity, Veronica, Vanessa, Virginia, Willow, Winter, Wren, Willa, Waverley, Zoe, Zara, Zeina.
