Part 2:

My name is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Lenor[/name_f] and I am 17 years old. I was born in 1863, and I am looking for a husband.

1880: I am heartbroken! My fiancé left town the day before the wedding. [name_m]How[/name_m] tragic! Talk about cold feet…

1881: Oh, how wonderful! I met a man by the name of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Bernard[/name_m] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], and we are going to be married next month! I am so eager, and -oh- there is so much to do!

1882: [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and I just had a baby girl! Her name is [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], and she’s absolutely darling!

1883: We had another little girl to join one-year-old [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]. Her name is [name_f]Effie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], with her precious blonde curls, is loving her baby sister!

1884: [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] has let us know that she is not happy! [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and I had a baby boy who’s name is [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u], but we call him [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] wanted another baby sister, and she has gotten a little bit bitter, but she’ll get over it.

1885: We welcomed sweet little [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] into this world this year. Darling [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] has already fallen on top of [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] while she is lying on the ground a few times. She’s fine, of course. That’s just what happens when little ones are learning to walk!

1886: This year was mostly uneventful, except for having a houseful of four naughty little children. Oh, they aren’t that naughty I suppose, but [name_f]Effie[/name_f] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] have gotten into a number of biting fights. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] has handled it quite well, though, considering that he grew up without any sisters or brothers.

1887: Oh, my! The children and I are absolutely miserable. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] has passed away due to disease! I have spent many days crying, and only [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_f]Effie[/name_f] seem to understand what is going on. [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] just cuddles, but [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] has been asking where Daddy is. Oh, it breaks my heart to explain it! I’ve told myself that, no matter what, I will not marry for five years, until [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] is seven and can accept a new father. I am very grateful that [name_m]Jack[/name_m] was well off and had a good occupation! Also, my parents and father-in-law have told me that they will send money every year.

1888: [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] turned six this year and has begun attending the schoolhouse down the road. I worry for her, because she is small for her age. I dearly hope no one is picking on her! I have asked her multiple times, and she says she is fine, but she is a very tough girl, and I don’t know if she really is fine.

1889: [name_f]Effie[/name_f] joined [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] at the schoolhouse, and the girl is quite the teacher’s pet! She told me that the teacher is always asking favors of her and stopping the boys from teasing her. [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] is a little jealous of the attention, but she has many friends of her own.

My name is [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_m]Kingston[/name_m] and I’m 17. I was born in 1863.

1880: My fiancé disappears the day I’m to marry him. Our son, [name_m]Chester[/name_m] [name_u]Albany[/name_u] is, of course, born out of wedlock. He is paraded about in town as my mother’s son.

1881: [name_m]Chester[/name_m] dies from influenza.

1882: My daughters [name_f]Concordia[/name_f] [name_u]Abril[/name_u] & [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Montrose are born. My mother says it will be impossible to find a suitor for me now.

1883: I’m married to [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]York[/name_m]. He is but an old, poor and smelly drunk and not near as marvelous as such a proper name may suggest. Mother says this is my fate for my sins. I have a miscarriage.

1884: I have a miscarriage.

1885: [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], my youngest daughter and [name_f]Concordia[/name_f]’s other half dies aged 3 after a fall down stairs! Talk, mourning or crying of/about the deceased is strictly forbidden and met with a swift lick of the switch. It is cold hearted, yes, but it is what must be done so [name_f]Concordia[/name_f] may forget her faster, and move into young lady-hood of sound mind and no traumas.

1886: Isoline [name_f]Hester[/name_f] is born! Her name honors me and the brother she will never meet. She is an awful lot like [name_f]Char[/name_f], the same stormy eyes and solemn disposition. [name_f]Concordia[/name_f] is in love.

1887: We proudly welcome [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_f]Pleasant[/name_f], our only living son. He is anything but pleasant, and screams until he is purple and blue with reflux.

1888: We welcome our 4th daughter, Ilizabeth [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f].

1889: We welcome our 5th daughter, [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
