I did, and I’m eager to hear about others’.
For over a decade, I imagined I was the red-headed mother of 12 girls. We lived in [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] Island and while I was a MASH (TV show) nurse married to character Hawkeye [name_m]Pierce[/name_m], he was nowhere to be seen in my fantasy, just me and my 12 daughters, each from a different father.
So you can see that I had a wild imagination and borrowed from TV and cats, who I think can have kittens from different fathers.
My children’s names also came from a mixture of TV, movies, children’s books, history, musicians, plants, and two dolls ([name_f]Holly[/name_f] Hobbie and [name_f]Hitty[/name_f], the doll book).
They were [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_u]Hilary[/name_u] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Erica[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f] [name_f]Mehitabel[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], the twins [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Glenda[/name_f], and [name_f]Amy[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
Not what I’d choose now, but not bad considering I named them when I was around 8 or 9. I loved how they were all from different nationalities and played different instruments and spoke different languages. Of course I now see that I was imagining different selves I could become because, whoa! I am not suited to single parent 12 children no matter how gorgeous my imagined flaming red hair.
Interested to hear other early-imagined families.
