I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] my [name_m]Rigby[/name_m]. I could easily use [name_m]Rigby[/name_m] as a first name also. I like the nickname [name_m]Rigs[/name_m].
I voted for [name_m]Rigby[/name_m]. I love it. It’s different without being weird. It sounds better than [name_m]Digby[/name_m] and I like it better than your other choices. Diggory just instantly makes me think of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] ([name_m]Cedric[/name_m] Diggory)
I’ve always really liked Diggory - it makes me think of the character from the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] books. I like [name_m]Digby[/name_m] as well though. I can’t say I’m a fan of [name_m]Benji[/name_m].
I quite like all the names you have listed. But my favorite would have to be [name_m]Digby[/name_m]. Its just a sweet name, I can imagine a handsome young man who is quite upbeat with this name.
And does [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] sound too female? I think of the mystery writer…
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u]
[name_m]Rigby[/name_m]
[name_u]Clancy[/name_u]
in that order.
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u] is very vibrant yet vintage
[name_m]Rigby[/name_m] is a bit silly, but not terrible
[name_u]Clancy[/name_u] is interesting, maybe too close to fancy but I like [name_m]Lance[/name_m] and can feel that similarity.
[name_u]Clancy[/name_u] and [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] are my favorites by far. [name_u]Clancy[/name_u] could be a rugged cowboy or a polished prep. [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] has a great, fun energy. [name_m]Both[/name_m] would make distinguished, versatile choices.
I love [name_m]Benji[/name_m], mainly as a nickname for [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], but it’s just such a fun, spunky name!
Diggory, [name_m]Benji[/name_m], & Ellory. I know it sounds off topic, but have you ever read C.S. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]’ The Magician’s Nephew? It’s the first book in the Chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], and one of the two main character’s name is Diggory. [name_m]Just[/name_m] thought I’d let you know.
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u] is my favorite by far.
A lot of these sound like dog names. [name_m]Rigby[/name_m] is a [name_f]Beverly[/name_f] [name_m]Cleary[/name_m] dog. [name_m]Digby[/name_m] is the dog on Pushing Daisies. [name_m]Benji[/name_m] was a dog in several movies.
Diggory yes is very [name_m]Cedric[/name_m], but it’s a positive association since his death is not his own fault. I also thought of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f].
[name_u]Clancy[/name_u] and [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] are both mystery writers. I have seen [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] used on girls, but if that doesn’t bother you…
Top Three in Order
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!
Yes, I have and that must be part of why I am fond of the name Diggory. There is also a Diggory [name_m]Venn[/name_m] in a [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Hardy[/name_m] novel and a nice [name_m]Digby[/name_m] in a [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] Pym novel.
I’ve found that nothing influences my name likes and dislikes more than my reading (except maybe teaching for 25 years! [name_m]Zach[/name_m]- BLECH!)
Thanks for the reminder about Diggory!
I love, love, love [name_m]Rigby[/name_m]… it has such a playful feel, but it would still fit a grown person, too. And besides, it has such a charming, approachable feel.
Diggory: This is (quite) a popular pet name where I live
[name_m]Digby[/name_m]: It’s alright, but I like [name_m]Rigby[/name_m] more
[name_u]Clancy[/name_u]: I actually really like this name, but boys would probably think it “sissy”
[name_m]Benji[/name_m]: Incomplete, and reminds me of the dog
[name_u]Ellery[/name_u]: Really like, except when it reminds me of celery
[name_u]Quincy[/name_u]: To me, it this is on the same scale as [name_u]Percy[/name_u], so not what I would call a strong name
And have you considered [name_u]Keats[/name_u], or [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]? They seem to match your style : )
[name_m]Rigby[/name_m], [name_u]Ellery[/name_u], [name_m]Benji[/name_m] & [name_u]Quincy[/name_u] are my favourites, in that order.
