What are some girl names that you think of as being very solemn? Some examples of names I would put in this category are [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. However, I find [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] to be a little boring, plain, and maybe too old for us. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] just doesn’t appeal in any other way. We like [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] a lot, but it’s not for us. Thank you for your help, it’s very appreciated!

Thanks everyone
I plan on using [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f], more modern sounding and trendy vs [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], and I think it fits well imagining the child
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you happen to like [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f]? Or just [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]? [name_f]Devorah[/name_f] is also cool. She was a biblical judge. The only woman. [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is also a good choice unless you are avoiding biblical names. It does hold great meaning and significance compared to many biblical women’s names
Thank you. [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is a lovely name!
One of my faves is [name_f]Patience[/name_f]
Interesting question. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is dignified though your other two don’t seem so to me.
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f] sounds dignified. [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. [name_u]Joan[/name_u]. [name_f]Judith[/name_f]. A lot of Biblical names.
I’m not sure that dignified and solemn are in my mind totally the same thing.
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Johannah[/name_f].
Dignified without being boring—
[name_f]Adela[/name_f]
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendoline[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
Thank you.
@lesliemarion The definition of solemn is formal and dignified, so they are of the similar meaning
