I really like the name [name_f]Camila[/name_f] but our friend recently named their daughter [name_f]Mila[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it’s the problem? I don’t want people rolling their eyes and thinking we chose same name. My husband thinks it’s completely different names, and we are not planning calling her [name_f]Mila[/name_f], may be [name_f]Cami[/name_f] or just [name_f]Camila[/name_f]
I don’t want to seem unoriginal
If you’re planning on calling her [name_f]Camila[/name_f] or [name_f]Cami[/name_f], I don’t see the problem at all. Lots of names have similar sounds and endings, the two don’t sound similar beyond that. [name_f]Camila[/name_f] is beautiful!
I agree. I would use it. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Camila[/name_f].
If you’re not planning on calling her [name_f]Mila[/name_f], I don’t think it’s an issue at all. When you’re calling her [name_f]Camila[/name_f] or [name_f]Cami[/name_f], I doubt anyone will even connect the two names.
I’d still use it if that’s the name you love! It’s different enough, [name_f]IMO[/name_f], especially if you call her [name_f]Cami[/name_f]. Could consider [name_f]Camille[/name_f] or even spelling it [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] with 2 Ls to make it more different if you’re worried.
I think it’s fine. The names are plenty different, even though they share some letters.
I think you should go for it. If they’re super good friends it may be nice to give a little reassurance that she’ll be [name_f]Camila[/name_f] or [name_f]Cami[/name_f], but I don’t think you should feel guilty or like you have to defend your choice.
Side note: I’m assuming [name_f]Mila[/name_f] is pronounced like the 2nd part of [name_f]Camila[/name_f], given your question, but I always thought [name_f]Mila[/name_f] was Mee-la?
Nahh you’re good. Look all the names that end similarly, -ayden, lyn, etc. Near rhyming names with friends can be fun even, I have experienced that a lot and it’s all in good fun. Plus, not to wish any ill will towards friendships, but it can be hard to predict who will stick around as friends in a child’s life.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] it! It’s plenty different.
Go for it. [name_f]Camila[/name_f] and [name_f]Mila[/name_f] are both popular names anyway.
[name_f]Camila[/name_f] is beautiful…very different from [name_f]Mila[/name_f], which is also nice. I just don’t associate them at all.
