Dilemma

We have two names on our list of boys names that have been used by a co-worker and a friend for their sons. Is it still okay for us to consider those names? I’m not sure what the proper etiquette/protocol is … thoughts/suggestions appreciated!

Definitely ok, depending on how close you are… I think probably more appropriate in the case of the co-worker. Would you be using same spelling/nickname?

If a co worker named their child what i wanted to name mine, unless i socialised with them regularly outside work i would definately use the name.

My husbands cousin has a son named [name]Alexander[/name] which we plan to name a future son, we dont really see them so would still use it. They also have a daughter named [name]Emily[/name] which is also the name of hubbys neice.

It is definitely okay for you to consider those names. Your coworkers do not own the names. Unless they’re your closest friends and you would feel weird about your kids having the same names, I say it’s all good.

Thanks, everyone! [name]One[/name] of the names is the name of my husbands co-workers kids. I’m friendly with his wife and see her from time to time but wouldn’t really consider us close friends. The other name is the name of one of my old co-workers kids. I’m fairly close with her and we talk on the phone a lot but I rarely see her as she lives out of state. [name]Both[/name] names were added to our list by my husband.
