[name]Dillon[/name] is my mother’s last name, [name]Thomas[/name] is my father’s first name. But- would people just think I misspelled the poet’s name? That might be awkward…
Hmmm… that is tough, two great family names together that make a famous name. I have found that after a baby is about 2 months old people stop asking the middle name. I think that most people don’t know my son’s middle name. So his name would just be [name]Dillion[/name] _____. Not [name]Dillion[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] when he meets people. Or maybe you could save one of the names for a future son? I say use it, it may be akward sometimes but you have good reason to use both names. I think [name]Dylan[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] is not alll THAT famous, not like you are naming him [name]Brad[/name] [name]Pitt[/name] or [name]George[/name] [name]Washington[/name]!
I’m ashamed I don’t know who [name]Dillon[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] is :(. Anyways, I agree that most people do not know/think about other people’s middle names.
I like [name]Dillon[/name] but thomas not so much. They are a great combo for a family name though.
My name is very similar to [name]Emily[/name] [name]Dickinson[/name] and not far off from [name]Charles[/name] Dickens. The similarity gives my name a special quality that I appreciate. I say go for it–the name is charming!
I think it’s a little… cutesy. I wouldn’t do it. [name]Even[/name] if I spelled it [name]Dylan[/name] not [name]Dillon[/name] to remove the misspelling confusion possibility. That’s just a matter of taste more than anything, I guess. It’s not as if it will deeply matter in his life, because you can really choose to reveal or conceal a middle name as much as you care to do, so if it matters deeply to you that these two names be used, together, in that order, then it’s not such a big deal. I just don’t care for it, in the same way I’d not care for [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] [name]Brown[/name]. But [name]Martin[/name] [name]Luther[/name] [name]King[/name]'s mother did it to him and he came out okay.
I think it would be one thing to name a son [name]Dylan[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] ln in honor of [name]Dylan[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]. We came close to naming our daughter [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Sienna[/name] ln after [name]Saint[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Sienna[/name] and [name]George[/name] [name]Washington[/name] [name]Carver[/name] was clearly named after [name]George[/name] [name]Washington[/name]. However, it is quite another to do it by chance - hence why the spelling [name]Dillon[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] could be seen as annoying.

I don’t mean to be annoying and nitpicking… but since I [name]JUST[/name] saw a special on [name]George[/name] [name]Washington[/name] [name]Carver[/name]. He was formerly just [name]George[/name] as a black man shortly after emancipation. The white [name]Carver[/name] family took him in and he adopted the last name [name]Carver[/name]. There was another [name]George[/name] [name]Carver[/name] where he worked so he added the [name]Washington[/name]. So he kind of named himself after [name]George[/name] [name]Washington[/name].
I would go with [name]Dillon[/name] othermiddlename and save [name]Thomas[/name] for another child.
If it bothers you, what about…
[name]Dillon[/name] [name]Tomas[/name] (toe-mas)- Spanish version of [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Dillon[/name] [name]Thompson[/name]- “[name]Son[/name] of [name]Tom[/name]”
[name]Dillon[/name] [name]Tom[/name]- Nicknamey, if it bothers you…
[name]Dillon[/name] [name]Tommy[/name]- Ditto…
[name]Dillon[/name] [name]Tobias[/name]- Not related to [name]Thomas[/name], but it starts with “T” and ends in “s”…
Good luck!
I like [name]Dillon[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]…FYI, [name]Michael[/name] [name]Douglas[/name] and [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Zeta[/name]-[name]Jones[/name]’ son is [name]Dylan[/name] [name]Thomas[/name].
