[name]How[/name] do you pronounce this? Die-na? Is is kinda like [name]Diana[/name]? juat without the first a sound? Or is it like [name]Dee[/name]-na?
I’ve always heard and pronounced “[name]Dinah[/name]” as Dye-na, with a long I sound.
I pronounce it Dye-na also . . . and I love it.
I thought it was just [name]Dee[/name]-na. Hmmm.
I’ve always heard DYE-na. Like the ‘i’ in [name]Diana[/name] [name]Lilah[/name] or [name]Jemima[/name].
It’s a sweet, if musty, Victorian darling name.
This is also the way it is said for [name]Alice[/name]'s cat as any [name]Alice[/name] In Wonderland fans can vouch
