I’m just wondering what the general response to the name [name]Dinah[/name] (DYE na) is. Sweet, old fashioned jazz inspired name like [name]Ella[/name], [name]Lena[/name], etc.? Or dated? Any hindering negative associations? Usable?
Im not actually considering this name at the moment, just curious.
I rather like [name]Dinah[/name] though I don’t really consider it old-fashioned or dated, because it doesn’t strike me as either really. If I had to label it, I’d say underused and Biblical. I would find it very refreshing on a baby/young child and very usable.
Possible negative associations: The Rape of [name]Dinah[/name] (from the book of [name]Genesis[/name]), “Someone’s in the Kitchen with [name]Dinah[/name]”
^Nothing too overwhelming
Makes me think of the folk song “Someone’s in the kitchen with [name]Dinah[/name]”. Then I think of a girl I used to know by that name, her nicknames were Dynamite and TNT.
The only negative association I can think of is the biblical one because [name]Dinah[/name] get’s raped in that story, but it isn’t the first thing that comes to mind.
