Re [name]Lara[/name]
I love it too, it is so fresh and feminine. Good choice!
I love [name]Emery[/name] and think it is Soooo special that hour hubby suggested it.
I also think it flows weel with the other girls: [name]Mia[/name], [name]Kira[/name] and [name]Emery[/name]. To me it finishes off the group much nicer than another -a name like [name]Lara[/name].
hi disa, Ivoted for [name]Lara[/name] too.And I totally agree with [name]Rollo[/name] that its a fresh, feminine and happy kind of name.I think this because I believe [name]Larisa[/name] relates to laughing and happiness or at least ai think I read this somewhere.I wish my hubby was as keen as yours is just recently.[name]How[/name] about [name]Faye[/name] as another short, feminine name.best of luck choosing.
Given the names of your other daughters, I think [name]Ruby[/name]. I love the name [name]Olivia[/name] too, but feel it is just a little much over [name]Kira[/name] and [name]Mia[/name]. I know how much you love [name]Ruby[/name], too, and didn’t think to much when I voted late last night. [name]Lara[/name] is a great name, but [name]Lara[/name]/[name]Kira[/name] - kind of too close. I don’t care about the popularity of [name]Olivia[/name] - not sure that accounts for the absence of votes on that name or if people just don’t think it goes well. [name]Daphne[/name] as well - I just don’t like this name as much as everyone else does, but if you love it, my opinion is it’s too much more name than the other daughters. [name]Emery[/name] - I do think [name]Emery[/name] board on this one, sorry. [name]Rae[/name] - I think with this name, I feel ray of sunshine, it’s simple, but for me, too simple. I like short simple names, but this seems like a nickname for something to me. I was thinking you might consider [name]Livia[/name] - not sure if it still feels too elaborate still, but without the big round O, and reduced by a syllable, it just might be the right balance.
I didn’t used to think a lot about [name]Ruby[/name], but I’ve heard you say things you love about it, and the last time when I discussed its value to me, I discovered many reasons to like it as well, and I know you responded to it. So, to me, it is the best pick on your list.
[name]Lara[/name] is also excellent, but not if you already have a [name]Kira[/name]. Have I mentioned how much I love the name [name]Kira[/name]? I don’t think I have. [name]LOVE[/name] it. Because [name]Lara[/name] and [name]Kira[/name] are half -ra, I just think, too close. I like the La part, [name]Lana[/name]? [name]Lena[/name]? [name]Lee[/name]-na or [name]Lay[/name]-na. I like [name]Elena[/name] a lot lately, so it makes me think that would fit in but be different. [name]Billy[/name] [name]Joel[/name] spells it Leyna.
Other names like this may be [name]Hana[/name] (hah-na), [name]Jana[/name] (janna or jayna), [name]Sela[/name] (see-la, like [name]Sela[/name] [name]Ward[/name]), [name]Neela[/name]/[name]Nila[/name]. These to me are [name]Lara[/name]-like without being too much like [name]Kira[/name], or [name]Mia[/name].
I voted for [name]Olivia[/name].
It is hugely popular I know but I think [name]Olivia[/name] goes beautifully with [name]Kira[/name] and [name]Mia[/name].
I really like the sound of [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Ruby[/name].
[name]Karen[/name] - The names you suggested I love! Those names are EXACTLY what I like and what I’m looking for. I’ve even brought these names up in the past to my DH but he doesn’t like them .
I’m also really into names with an “ee” sound at the end like [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name]. [name]Lorelie[/name] (ee sound not eye) is a name I [name]LOVE[/name] but of course I’m then only lover of it in my house. [name]Laura[/name] [name]Lee[/name] looks to plain to me I don’t know why. Maybe [name]Lara[/name] Li ??? Or is that too much like [name]Sara[/name] [name]Lee[/name]?
[name]Lea[/name] was on the list at one point but we took it off because we thought it was way too matchy with [name]Mia[/name].
Since my [name]Kira[/name] is 11 she gives pretty good feedback on names. All though she’s not thrilled about us having another baby she is very opinionated and will be 100% truthful about a name if we ask her. That’s not always a good thing : / The point - I asked her if she though [name]Lara[/name] was too similar to her name and her response was that her name was pronounced keer-uh and [name]Lara[/name] was Lahr- ah. She seems to think the ruh and rah sounds are completely differnet. Of course once again she’s not thrilled about a new baby and if she had her way she’d name the baby [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Parker[/name], [name]Wren[/name] or [name]Margot[/name].
Thanks for the replies
[name]Hi[/name]! I voted for [name]Daphne[/name], but I can also see [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Lara[/name] with your daughters’ names. [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Ruby[/name] were basically tied for me!
Good luck!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Lara[/name]. Think it fits best with [name]Kira[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] plus it’s short, sweet and sassy!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Lara[/name]. I wonder what she went with?
WHOOPS! [name]JUST[/name] REALIZED THIS WAS MAJORLY OLD! SORRY!
[name]Lisa[/name],
Hey! [name]Lara[/name]'s your best bet, hands down. I like that it is short and sweet like [name]Kira[/name] and [name]Mia[/name]. It has a strong vowel sound, even if it isn’t an I like your other two girls. And, it ends in an A, which sounds lovely with your last name and adds a sense of continuity to your sibling set.
[name]Emery[/name] feels too unisex to me, and [name]Ruby[/name] feels too classic. [name]Olivia[/name] is so, so popular - albeit lovely! - so [name]Livia[/name] could be a compromise, but then again it seems so much longer than [name]Kira[/name] and [name]Mia[/name], and you’ve got that long last name. [name]Rae[/name] feels insubstantial to me, both in the first name spot and in the middle name spot, honestly. And, I can’t remember the rest of your list off the top of my head, if there was more to it!
You mentioned [name]Marie[/name] as a first name, and I totally agree that it sounds too similar to [name]Mia[/name]. But, what about using it in the middle? I know a lot of people see it as a filler middle name, but I disagree. Maybe it was back in the day, but now I think [name]Anne[/name], [name]Grace[/name], and [name]Rose[/name] are much more “filler-ish” than [name]Marie[/name]! [name]Lara[/name] [name]Marie[/name] Celentano - oh, I think I messed up that spelling! - sounds perfect to me…
[name]Lemon[/name]
Struggled between [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Lara[/name], but chose [name]Ruby[/name].
