Dissect my Top 25... Brutal honesty wanted!

Hey everyone. I would love to hear opinions on my Top 25 girls names.

I’m not sensitive, so feel free to be harsh if necessary. I’d rather know now than name a child a horrible name that will cause teasing. When I run my favorite names by the people around me they’re either indifferent or say “oh that’s a great name.” I never seem to get much feedback… so I’m consulting Nameberries!

  1. [name]Sidra[/name] (I pronounce this as “sid druh”. Means cider in Spanish though…)
  2. [name]Calla[/name] (I pronounce as “kal luh”)
  3. [name]Callia[/name] (I’m trying to decide between “kal [name]LEE[/name] uh” and “[name]KAL[/name] lee uh”… I don’t like “CALL ee uh” or “kal yuh”)
  4. [name]Cena[/name] (Pronounced as “see nuh.” I really love this name, but it means dinner in both Spanish and Italian…)
  5. [name]Cassia[/name] (I wonder which is prettier: “[name]CASS[/name] ee uh” or “cass SEE uh”. What do you think?)
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] (“joy uh”)
  7. [name]Aviva[/name]
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name]
  9. [name]Caroline[/name]
  10. [name]Camille[/name]
  11. [name]Carmen[/name] (I’ve always adored this name, but I’m not Latina. Is that a problem? Interestingly, the only person I’ve ever personally known with this name was a Caucasian girl in high school)
  12. [name]Veronica[/name]
  13. [name]Anna[/name]
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name]
  15. [name]Hilary[/name] ([name]Hillary[/name] [name]Clinton[/name] association doesn’t bother me… I’m a fan of hers anyways)
  16. [name]Simone[/name]
  17. [name]Brynna[/name] (I pronounce as “brin uh”, like [name]Bryn[/name] with an “uh” behind it. Not my usual style, but I like it quite a bit)
  18. [name]Margaret[/name] (I really just like this name to use the nickname [name]Daisy[/name] lol… I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Daisy[/name])
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] (I’m aware of the [name]Bronwyn[/name]/ [name]Bronwen[/name] spellings. I apologize if that angers people of Welsh background to misspell one of their names)
  20. [name]Prisca[/name] (“priss kuh”)
  21. [name]Parisa[/name] (“pah ree suh”)
  22. [name]Tessa[/name]
  23. [name]Vivia[/name]
  24. [name]Milana[/name] (“mill LAWN uh”)
  25. [name]Helena[/name] (I can’t choose between “huh [name]LAY[/name] nuh” and “huh [name]LEE[/name] nuh”. I definitely don’t like “HELL uh nuh”)

So, that’s my list. Have at it! Hopefully my pronunciation guides make sense.

  1. [name]Sidra[/name] - Reminds me of [name]Cedric[/name] and just doesn’t give me a wow factor.
  2. [name]Calla[/name] - I love that name because of the flower association.
  3. [name]Callia[/name] - Prefer [name]Calla[/name] or [name]Celia[/name]. [name]Callia[/name] sounds like the two smooshed together.
  4. [name]Cena[/name] - I like that sound of it, but it reminds me of [name]Sienna[/name]. If I heard it, I would think that someone butchered [name]Sienna[/name].
  5. [name]Cassia[/name] - I think of Casio electronics. But other than that association, I like the way it rolls off my tongue and the more I say it, the more I like it.
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] - the spelling throws me. I imagine lots of substitute teachers, pausing to pronounce this one during attendance. What about just using [name]Joya[/name]?
  7. [name]Aviva[/name] - pretty.
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name] - classic, traditional, but a little boring as a first name.
  9. [name]Caroline[/name] - love it!
  10. [name]Camille[/name] - love it!
  11. [name]Carmen[/name] - I don’t associate it with people of Hispanic origin. I think it could suit a caucasian girl/woman.
  12. [name]Veronica[/name] - love it! I love all V names
  13. [name]Anna[/name] - love it!
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name] - prefer [name]Evangelina[/name]. The “lista” on the end sounds a little off to me. Reminds me of the word barista or [name]Batista[/name] from [name]Dexter[/name].
  15. [name]Hilary[/name] - [name]Hillary[/name] [name]Clinton[/name] aside, it’s a beautiful name.
  16. [name]Simone[/name] - love it! I picture a very beautiful woman with this name. I have a tough time picturing a baby with the name though, so maybe a nickname would be nice.
  17. [name]Brynna[/name] - I know a woman in her 60’s named [name]Bryna[/name]. It’s not bad, but not my fave from your list.
  18. [name]Margaret[/name] - very elegant and beautiful!
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] - the spelling throws me
  20. [name]Prisca[/name] - sounds like the name of a cat. sorry.
  21. [name]Parisa[/name] - same as [name]Prisca[/name]
  22. [name]Tessa[/name] - love!
  23. [name]Vivia[/name] - prefer [name]Viviana[/name]. [name]Vivia[/name] is cute though.
  24. [name]Milana[/name] - love! I have a friend who name her daughter this and I think it’s beautiful, unusual.
  25. [name]Helena[/name] - love [name]Helena[/name]. I went to college with a girl named [name]Helena[/name] and she was gorgeous and sweet, so I have a good association with the name.
  1. [name]Sidra[/name] - Sort of cute.
  2. [name]Calla[/name] - i don’t see the appeal of this one…
  3. [name]Callia[/name] - …or this one.
  4. [name]Cena[/name] - Looks weird.
  5. [name]Cassia[/name] - It’s pronounced [name]CAS[/name]-ee-uh. [name]One[/name] of my favourites on your list.
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] - i saw this one the first time yesterday, it’s beautiful and fun!
  7. [name]Aviva[/name] - Eh, [name]Viva[/name] doesn’t need an a in front of it.
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name] - classsic and beautiful.
  9. [name]Caroline[/name] - sounds boring to me.
  10. [name]Camille[/name] - I don’t like [name]Camille[/name], it’s a mean girl name-
  11. [name]Carmen[/name] - I think it can work. I’ve met one, she was not spanish, but danish and blonde.
  12. [name]Veronica[/name] - very pretty-
  13. [name]Anna[/name] - My favourite on your list. Beautiful classic gorgeous warm and lovely.
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name] - No,. thta’s just horrible.
  15. [name]Hilary[/name] - always seemed harsh to me. [name]Clinton[/name] is cool though.
  16. [name]Simone[/name] - same as [name]Camille[/name].
  17. [name]Brynna[/name] - [name]One[/name] of your less appealing names, although not horrible.
  18. [name]Margaret[/name] - I think you should [name]Daisy[/name] if that’s the name you want. I know grown up [name]Daisy[/name]'s.
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] - it’s not a misspelling, it’s the male version.
  20. [name]Prisca[/name] - I don’t like this.
  21. [name]Parisa[/name] - Nope, this is not good.
  22. [name]Tessa[/name] - Very pretty, but I like [name]Tess[/name] more. [name]Tessa[/name] is awully cute though.
  23. [name]Vivia[/name] - I prefer [name]Viva[/name]!
  24. [name]Milana[/name] - pronunciation is mi-[name]LEN[/name]-uh. I think it’s pretty.
  25. [name]Helena[/name] - i pronounce it HE-luh-nuh, it’s a lovely name ([name]Helena[/name] Bonham [name]Carter[/name] brought some spunk and sparkle to it).

I’ve considered [name]Joya[/name], but idk… It just doesn’t give me the same feeling as [name]Gioia[/name]. But I definitely imagine people seeing the name and scratching their heads lol Thanks for the suggestion

  1. [name]Sidra[/name]- Eh.
  2. [name]Calla[/name]- Nice, but I see better names on this list.
  3. [name]Callia[/name]- I prefer kuh-[name]LEE[/name]-ah, which I find lovely.
  4. [name]Cena[/name]- Not loving it.
  5. [name]Cassia[/name]- [name]CASS[/name]-ee-uh souds so pretty!
  6. [name]Gioia[/name]- I agree with bellababy- most people would only understand [name]Joya[/name].
  7. [name]Aviva[/name]- Pretty and spunky! I love nickname [name]Viv[/name].
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name]- A bit of an outlier on this list, but still gorgeous!
  9. [name]Caroline[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this name so much! Classic but not boring.
  10. [name]Camille[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name]!
  11. [name]Carmen[/name]- I associate this name with the [name]Lana[/name] [name]Del[/name] [name]Rey[/name] song, the chorus being, “The boys, the girls, they all like [name]Carmen[/name]/She gives them butterflies, bats her cartoon eyes/She laughs like God, her mind is like a diamond” and so on. [name]Love[/name] it!
  12. [name]Veronica[/name]- Same as [name]Caroline[/name]. Beautiful!
  13. [name]Anna[/name]- Somewhat plain compared to the rest.
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name]- GORGEOUS! I love it!
  15. [name]Hilary[/name]- Meh.
  16. [name]Simone[/name]- Nah.
  17. [name]Brynna[/name]- It’s nice, but not great.
  18. [name]Margaret[/name]- Same as [name]Anna[/name].
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name]- I’ve never seen the appeal of this name.
  20. [name]Prisca[/name]- Priss?
  21. [name]Parisa[/name]- Very cute.
  22. [name]Tessa[/name]- Beautiful! [name]Love[/name] it.
  23. [name]Vivia[/name]- I love this name! Really freshens up [name]Vivian[/name].
  24. [name]Milana[/name]- Gorgeous!
  25. [name]Helena[/name]- HEL-eh-nuh sounds absolutely gorgeous to me, but if you don’t like that I’d say heh-[name]LAY[/name]-nuh.

My favorites: [name]Vivia[/name], [name]Evangelista[/name], [name]Carmen[/name], [name]Camille[/name] and [name]Aviva[/name].

[name]Sidra[/name]- meh.
[name]Calla[/name]- I don’t care for it.
[name]Callia[/name]-If you can’t decide how you want it pronounced, it means it’s confusing.
[name]Aviva[/name]- I love it. I think it sounds fresh and spunky.
[name]Elizabeth[/name]- classic, love it
[name]Caroline[/name]- I really like [name]Caroline[/name].
[name]Camille[/name]- pretty
[name]Carmen[/name]- okay
[name]Veronica[/name]- spunky
[name]Evangelista[/name]- I don’t care for it. I think of [name]Linda[/name] [name]Evangelista[/name] the model. I love [name]Evangeline[/name] and really prefer it.
[name]Hilary[/name]- It seems dated but it’s not a bad name.
[name]Simone[/name]- pretty
[name]Brynna[/name]- I really prefer [name]Bryn[/name]/[name]Brynn[/name].
[name]Margaret[/name]- I like it as a given name but have a hard time seeing it used day in and day out in full. I much prefer the nicknames.
[name]Bronwen[/name]- I like it but really prefer the [name]Bronwyn[/name] spelling.
[name]Prisca[/name]- sounds prissy and prickly, don’t like it
[name]Parisa[/name]- sounds pretty
[name]Tessa[/name]- love
[name]Vivia[/name]- pretty,but prefer [name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Milana[/name]- I don’t care for it.
[name]Helena[/name]- pretty.
[name]Gioia[/name]- My first reaction was, Huh? I like [name]Joya[/name] better. You could always save that spelling for the middle spot.

You’re absolutely right. I might seriously consider taking this one off my list because it is a bit confusing.

Thanks for that thought

  1. [name]Sidra[/name] I like this! Much more than [name]Sidney[/name] on a girl. Has a bit of a [name]Kendra[/name] vibe.
  2. [name]Calla[/name] gorgeous but I prefer it as a nn for [name]Calliope[/name] though it’s pretty as is
  3. [name]Callia[/name] I prefer [name]Calla[/name]. The [name]Cally[/name] sound feels more dated somehow
  4. [name]Cena[/name] not a fan of the sound & the meaning is odd.
  5. [name]Cassia[/name] [name]Cass[/name] EE uh to me. It’s nice enough.
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] [name]Love[/name] it! [name]Joy[/name] in Italian! Gorgeous & distinct but not odd!
  7. [name]Aviva[/name] for some reason mskes me think of medication? Maybe Google to bevsure? Pretty sounding but not enough heft for me
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name] a solid classic & versatile & pretty
  9. [name]Caroline[/name] also pretty & classic
  10. [name]Camille[/name] very nice
  11. [name]Carmen[/name] I love it! I think it’s fine no matter what your background on a girl.
  12. [name]Veronica[/name] I love it especially with nn [name]Vera[/name] or Vinca.
  13. [name]Anna[/name] I love it! Classic & gorgeous
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name] I just think [name]Linda[/name]
  15. [name]Hilary[/name] feels clear & clean to me. It’s not my favorite name but I like the crispness of it.
  16. [name]Simone[/name] my daughter’s mn so I adore it. It feels sophisticated to me
  17. [name]Brynna[/name] not my thing at all. The Y & the [name]Bre[/name] thing feel like dated 90s trendiness
  18. [name]Margaret[/name] I prefer just [name]Daisy[/name]. [name]Margaret[/name] is a nice enough classic but dull to me.
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] Better than [name]Brynna[/name] but clunky to me.
  20. [name]Prisca[/name] nms. Feels prissy.
  21. [name]Parisa[/name] nms I think pariah
  22. [name]Tessa[/name] cute but childish
  23. [name]Vivia[/name] medication sounding & made-up trendy sounding
  24. [name]Milana[/name] (“mill LAWN uh”) nms. Princessy to me
  25. [name]Helena[/name] I dislike the confusion of the multiple pronunciations but really I think all of them are pretty sounding!

[name]Gioia[/name]
[name]Simone[/name]
[name]Carmen[/name]
[name]Calla[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]

This is my top 5! All feel sophisticated, would travel well, are familiar but distinct.

I also love [name]Anna[/name] & [name]Caroline[/name] & [name]Elizabeth[/name] but they didn’t make the top cause they feel less exciting next to some of these!

You actually have a pretty nice list here, there are some names I’m absolutely thrilled to see! ^^ I’m into the more unusual names, so I can’t help but suggest unusual alternatives to some of the more common names on your list. Also, all comments are based on my own taste, you’ll have to decide for yourself how helpful that is.

[name]LOVE[/name]:
[name]Prisca[/name] - Spunky, fun, unexpected. [name]Petra[/name] would probably be more pleasing to a wider crowd though, but I like [name]Prisca[/name] more along with Iscah, Iskra, [name]Saskia[/name]. And [name]Thekla[/name], although it’s a little different.
[name]Anna[/name] - The perfect name. ^^ Not alongside all your other names though, they’re either too long or unusual.
[name]Aviva[/name] - I used to love this more, but it’s a great choice regardless. I also like [name]Aziza[/name] but that might be a little lispy for you?
[name]Gioia[/name] - I prefer [name]Joya[/name] for simplicity or [name]Gloria[/name] for some retro charm. [name]Gioia[/name] is beautiful in her own right, but very in-your-face Italian, a thing to be aware of.
[name]Tessa[/name] - My mother saw this name on a boat and told me she really liked it. That sort of opened my eyes, and I love [name]Tessa[/name].

wildcard: [name]Sidra[/name]. I really like it!! I think it’s the -dra- letter combination, it’s also in my favourites [name]Audra[/name] and [name]Phaedra[/name] I get stuck on specific letter sequences at times. I had and -mn- obsession once. The -id- part is also very appealing. Reminds me of [name]Cressida[/name] which would be nice for you since you like so many C names.

Neutral (in an ‘okay I guess’ sort of way):
[name]Vivia[/name] - [name]Aviva[/name] is much better. This is too much like all the other V names trending right now, but more fun than [name]Vivian[/name].
[name]Margaret[/name] - I like it more than the other classics on your list, but I love [name]Margot[/name] or [name]Greta[/name].
[name]Carmen[/name] - I knew a 4 year old named [name]Carmen[/name], she was tiny and quite timid but sweet as pie! Then there’s the [name]Lana[/name] del [name]Rey[/name] song which is quite cool, so it’s growing on me. I used to hate it.
[name]Parisa[/name] - More interesting than some of your other choices, but seems a little try-hard. '[name]Don[/name]‘t want a [name]Paris[/name] [name]Hilton[/name] connection, so lets add an A!’. I love [name]Paris[/name] for a boy.

Meh:
[name]Calla[/name]+[name]Callia[/name]+[name]Cena[/name]+[name]Cassia[/name]+[name]Camille[/name]+[name]Caroline[/name] - Too much C! I like [name]Calla[/name] the most, but [name]Cara[/name] has more character. I guess character is what most of these names are missing for me. Try [name]Caia[/name], [name]Clary[/name], [name]Clio[/name], [name]Cosima[/name], [name]Carna[/name]/Carneia or [name]Cressida[/name]. Much more interesting!
[name]Elizabeth[/name] - used up. [name]Eliza[/name] or [name]Elise[/name] would be much fresher.
[name]Veronica[/name] - never liked it. The [name]Ron[/name] and [name]Nic[/name] parts make it sound very masculine to me… [name]Vera[/name] or [name]Verbena[/name] or [name]Viridiana[/name] or even just [name]Verona[/name] (the O sound is longer so it’s less like [name]Ron[/name]) are all better.
[name]Evangelista[/name] - Too much, [name]Evangelia[/name] is nice if you want something like [name]Evangeline[/name], although [name]Evangeline[/name] is plenty unusual enough on her own outside of Nameberry. I love the [name]Evangeline[/name] character in [name]Nanny[/name] [name]McPhee[/name] [name]Callista[/name] for the -sta ending that’s the most fun part of the name
[name]Hilary[/name] - sounds very old to me. More like [name]Hilda[/name] than [name]Ellery[/name] if you know what I mean. [name]Ilaria[/name] is a pretty variant, and there’s sweet Illyria. Hannelly and [name]Hannelore[/name] come to mind. And I like Hendeca but it’s probably more like [name]Prisca[/name] than [name]Hilary[/name] XD
[name]Simone[/name] - can’t get past the -moan- part. I don’t like [name]Mona[/name] either. [name]Ondine[/name] is nice or Zosime or [name]Sonoma[/name] even.
[name]Brynna[/name] - I don’t like the fact that there are so many bri/bry or just Br names on the charts these days, [name]Brielle[/name], [name]Brynn[/name], [name]Brendan[/name]. It’s getting a little old. Wrenna is a lovely alternative or maybe [name]Bryony[/name]? She manages to escape being bundled up with all the other because she’s so lilting and sweet ^^
[name]Bronwyn[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like this one either, but you liking [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Bronwyn[/name] makes me think you might like [name]Anwen[/name]? [name]Bronwyn[/name] seems a little brusque to me.
[name]Milana[/name] - seems more like a combination of trending sounds than anything, lacks substance. [name]Magdalena[/name] would be more fun or [name]Melusine[/name].
[name]Helena[/name] - I actually love this one, but ONLY as HELL-uh-nuh XD If you like huh-[name]LAY[/name]-nuh you should use [name]Elaina[/name]/[name]Elena[/name] [name]IMO[/name], and if you like huh-[name]LEE[/name]-nuh you should use [name]Elina[/name] or [name]Alina[/name], which reminds me of Aluna, a recent discovery I’m not sure about the legitimacy of. [name]One[/name] site says it’s an African name meaning ‘approach’, I can’t be certain.

Also-

[name]Simone[/name] nn [name]Senna[/name] could get you to Cenna

[name]Gioia[/name] spelled [name]Joya[/name] just leaves me joyless

HAHAHA yeah me too! I can’t explain why [name]Joya[/name] “feels” differently than [name]Gioia[/name], but I’m glad you understand my sentiments lol

Maybe it’s that exciting Italian feel. Only problem is that I don’t have an ounce of Italian ancestry.

Wow, thank you for taking so much time to reply! Your comments were all so helpful!

It’s funny that you mentioned [name]Cressida[/name] because I used to [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] that name. However, one day someone pointed out the old Toyota [name]Cressida[/name] from back in the day and it ruined it for me. Perhaps I could revive my love- the first time I heard the name was on the [name]Will[/name] [name]Smith[/name] movie ‘[name]Hitch[/name]’ and I thought it sounded sophisticated and memorable.

I also used to like [name]Bryony[/name] until I discovered I was pronouncing it incorrectly- I thought it was “bree uh nee” not “[name]BRI[/name] uh nee”. That “[name]Brian[/name]” sound is just too much for me.

Also, I do like [name]Callista[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name]. They’re both on my long list. Thank you for the suggestions!

Oh and my name starts with a C, so maybe that’s why I’m drawn to it lol It’s not on purpose though

  1. [name]Sidra[/name] This is OK.
  2. [name]Calla[/name] I love [name]Calla[/name]. It’s probably too short for me personally, but I think its beautiful
  3. [name]Callia[/name] nowhere near as nice as [name]Calla[/name]
  4. [name]Cena[/name] - reminds me of [name]Xena[/name], which isn’t a terrible thing. its nms
  5. [name]Cassia[/name] prefer [name]CASSia[/name] the other leads me to Casino.
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] I like this one
  7. [name]Aviva[/name] - this is too ‘much’ for me if that makes sense
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name] - adore. my personal preference is for [name]Elisabeth[/name].
  9. [name]Caroline[/name] - wonderful
  10. [name]Camille[/name] - like, but prefer [name]Camilla[/name], [name]Camella[/name] and [name]Camellia[/name]
  11. [name]Carmen[/name] - i’ve never liked this name
  12. [name]Veronica[/name] - ditto
  13. [name]Anna[/name] - boring. and not in a good classic way.
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name] - too much going on here.
  15. [name]Hilary[/name] - I’ve always liked this name. I think its got something really lovely going on. it would be a refreshing choice
  16. [name]Simone[/name] - nice in theory but nms
  17. [name]Brynna[/name] I think I’ve heard [name]Brinley[/name], but not [name]Brynna[/name]. don’t like
  18. [name]Margaret[/name] - I would just call her [name]Daisy[/name] then. so sweet
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] - my aunties name. don’t like it. and we do tease her about its meaning.
  20. [name]Prisca[/name] I like [name]Priscilla[/name] and [name]Priya[/name] more
  21. [name]Parisa[/name] This is nice, i’ve never heard it before
  22. [name]Tessa[/name] - nice
  23. [name]Vivia[/name]
  24. [name]Milana[/name] - I would say this like [name]Milan[/name] the place, with a on the end. it has a nice sound
  25. [name]Helena[/name] - well personally I like the [name]Helen[/name]-a prn, but I like Hel-ee-na over Helayna

I don’t think you should let Toyota dictate your name choices  [name]Cressida[/name] is absolutely gorgeous!
If you like the bree-o-nee pronunciation (which I think is actually used by some), maybe you like Briseis? Or Briseida which is similar to [name]Cressida[/name] as well.

I absolutely love the idea of naming a child after the mother, it’s a wonderful way to choose a name! I don’t mind C names at all, actually, it’s just that [name]Cassie[/name] and [name]Callie[/name] are so typical, so anything with different sounds seem more interesting, like [name]Cara[/name] or [name]Cosima[/name].

  1. [name]Sidra[/name]-[a little too different.]
  2. [name]Calla[/name] [Pretty.]
  3. [name]Callia[/name][[name]Nix[/name] it. I agree with lis09…]
  4. [name]Cena[/name][reminds me of [name]John[/name] [name]Cena[/name] the wrestler…I like [name]Cinna[/name] though, but that might be too Pop Culture because of the hunger games.]
  5. [name]Cassia[/name] [I don’t like. I don’t really know why.]
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] [[name]JOYA[/name] is easier to spell and know how to pronounce.]
  7. [name]Aviva[/name][…never heard of this. Its good though.]
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name][too mainstream.]
  9. [name]Caroline[/name][cute.]
  10. [name]Camille[/name] [like it.]
  11. [name]Carmen[/name]-[I’m on the fence with this one. If its paired with a pretty middle name, I say go for it.]
  12. [name]Veronica[/name] [nope.]
  13. [name]Anna[/name]-[again, if paired with a really good middle name, go for it.]
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name] [weird.]
  15. [name]Hilary[/name] [I’ve always like this name…but I am from Arkansas]
  16. [name]Simone[/name] [LOVELOVELOVE…this is actually a middle name of MINE!]
  17. [name]Brynna[/name] [very pretty.]
  18. [name]Margaret[/name] [eh. its okay.]
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] [I can’t decide…its different for sure. Depends on your last name.]
  20. [name]Prisca[/name] [weird.]
  21. [name]Parisa[/name] [fan of [name]Paris[/name]?]
  22. [name]Tessa[/name] [love it.]
  23. [name]Vivia[/name] [no.]
  24. [name]Milana[/name] [pretty]
  25. [name]Helena[/name][too old school.]
Wide variety of names, but good choices overall!
  1. [name]Sidra[/name] (I pronounce this as “sid druh”. Means cider in Spanish though…) - It is okay. It reminds me of [name]Cendrillon[/name], which is [name]Cinderella[/name]. I like a lot of S names for girls though and this wouldn’t be a favourite.

  2. [name]Calla[/name] (I pronounce as “kal luh”) - I really like botanicals but I like [name]Calla[/name] much less than [name]Cassia[/name]. It is not terrible though.

  3. [name]Callia[/name] (I’m trying to decide between “kal [name]LEE[/name] uh” and “[name]KAL[/name] lee uh”… I don’t like “CALL ee uh” or “kal yuh”) - Worse than [name]Calla[/name].

  4. [name]Cena[/name] (Pronounced as “see nuh.” I really love this name, but it means dinner in both Spanish and Italian…) - [name]John[/name] [name]Cena[/name] the pro-wrestler is all I can think of. He’s usually just called [name]Cena[/name]. Killed any feminine feel for me.

  5. [name]Cassia[/name] - I love it. I absolutely adore [name]Cassia[/name]. I say it [name]CASS[/name]-ee-uh. Or [name]Cash[/name]-uh, but while I favour 2 syllables for [name]Cassius[/name], I favour 3 for [name]Cassia[/name].

  6. [name]Gioia[/name] (“joy uh”) - Not fond of it, sorry. I don’t like the sound. [name]Joy[/name] is not my favourite virtue name. I think [name]Giselle[/name] or [name]Graziella[/name] would be nicer.

  7. [name]Aviva[/name] - [name]Adore[/name] it. Admittedly I like [name]Viviana[/name] too. I find it very appealing

  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name] - I love [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I always have a hard time balancing classics against more eccentric choices though.

  9. [name]Caroline[/name] - [name]Love[/name]. Much prefer to the more popular [name]Charlotte[/name].

  10. [name]Camille[/name] - Dislike. Harsh. Prefer [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Cassia[/name], or other C’s like [name]Calanthe[/name] or [name]Camellia[/name].

  11. [name]Carmen[/name] - I don’t think one has to be Latina to use [name]Carmen[/name], but the Carmens I’ve known all are.

  12. [name]Veronica[/name] - Like it. Underused classic. Neither [name]Nicki[/name] or [name]Ronnie[/name] appeal but [name]Vera[/name] is nice.

  13. [name]Anna[/name] - Hate it. [name]Hannah[/name] or [name]Anne[/name] would be far preferable to [name]Anna[/name], for me.

  14. [name]Evangelista[/name] - Dislike. [name]Evangeline[/name] would be easier, [name]Emmanuelle[/name] would have more character, [name]Alexandrina[/name] is similar length but more flowing… I find [name]Evangelista[/name] rather grating, no offense.

  15. [name]Hilary[/name] - I recently heard my sister singing this name’s praises and I see it in a rather different light than I had, but I still prefer related [name]Ilaria[/name]. I do think it could come back though.

  16. [name]Simone[/name] - [name]Love[/name].

  17. [name]Brynna[/name] - Dislike. Feels like an uncertain compromise riding the [name]Bree[/name]/[name]Brielle[/name]/[name]Brianna[/name] train right into the ground.

  18. [name]Margaret[/name] - My best friend’s middle name is [name]Marguerite[/name], and I’ve always adored it (and marguerites are gorgeous little daisies) but [name]Margaret[/name] feels harsher/older to me. [name]Daisy[/name] IS adorable as a nickname.

  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] - I find I’m rather biased, aesthetically, against y’s in the middles of names unless they’re VERY traditional/correct, due to the massive influx of kreatyve y’s. However, I really love a number of -wen names: [name]Branwen[/name], [name]Anwen[/name], Lilwen, Rhoswen… [name]Bronwyn[/name]'s probably the most overused of all of them though.

  20. [name]Prisca[/name] (“priss kuh”) - I like it, but I am also like the one living person who likes [name]Priscilla[/name].

  21. [name]Parisa[/name] (“pah ree suh”) - Dislike.

  22. [name]Tessa[/name] - Feels insubstantial to me, but it’s pretty.

  23. [name]Vivia[/name] - Cute, but not as cute as [name]Aviva[/name].

  24. [name]Milana[/name] (“mill LAWN uh”) - Dislike.

  25. [name]Helena[/name] (I can’t choose between “huh [name]LAY[/name] nuh” and “huh [name]LEE[/name] nuh”. I definitely don’t like “HELL uh nuh”) - Like. Well, huh-[name]LEE[/name]-nuh is a like.

Wow, did you break into my long list of favorite names?!! lol I also like Briseis. It doesn’t make the top 25, but I do like it quite a bit. Someone has mentioned to me before that it reminds them of the Jewish bris. That could pose a problem.

This piqued my interest. [name]Do[/name] you say this because the Clintons started their political careers in Arkansas (therefore [name]Hilary[/name]/[name]Hillary[/name] is deemed a good name in Arkansas) or do people in Arkansas not like the name [name]Hilary[/name] because of [name]Hillary[/name] [name]Clinton[/name]?? [name]Just[/name] wondering

  1. [name]Sidra[/name] (“sid druh”. Means cider in Spanish though…) - I would have prn it [name]Sid[/name]-[name]RA[/name]. I’m personally not a fan of the harder S sound and would have probably spelled it Cidra if said out loud. I do think it’s a nice alternative to [name]Sydney[/name].
  2. [name]Calla[/name] (“kal luh”) - I love this name I prn it [name]Cal[/name]-la. I think it’s a beautiful fn choice.
  3. [name]Callia[/name] (“kal [name]LEE[/name] uh” and “[name]KAL[/name] lee uh”) - I love [name]Calla[/name] so much that i find the extra i a bit bothersome.
  4. [name]Cena[/name] (“see nuh.”) - reminds me of a mix between [name]Sena[/name] and [name]Cinna[/name]. I’m not big that it means dinner in a languages that is so widespread in the US. Cider doesn’t bother me so much because it’s not a daily word. Also I can just see [name]Cena[/name] turning into a sexually themed teasable name.
  5. [name]Cassia[/name] ("[name]CASS[/name] ee uh" or “cass SEE uh”) - I prefer prn [name]Cass[/name]-SEE-uh, though I prefer the male [name]Cassio[/name] better.
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] (“joy uh”) - I would have never prn this correctly on a cold read. I think that simply [name]Joy[/name] would be nicer.
  7. [name]Aviva[/name] - I love that it’s a palindrome. It reminds me a little of body scrub, but that doesn’t diminish how cool I think this name is.
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name] - pretty, classic and a great staple name.
  9. [name]Caroline[/name] - see [name]Elizabeth[/name] (though [name]Caroline[/name] is nms).
  10. [name]Camille[/name] - very sweet.
  11. [name]Carmen[/name] - I don’t think it’s problem on a non-Latina. I however an not a huge fan of the name. There isn’t really anything wrong with it but Car Men just doesn’t strike me as something I’d like to name my daughter.
  12. [name]Veronica[/name] - personally I prefer [name]Vera[/name].
  13. [name]Anna[/name] - This is such a great name. I prefer it prn with a softer and longer ah sound than the harsher a sound.
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name] - too evangelical for me. it’s also a little sacrine sweet and give me a tooth ache thinking about it. I feel the same way [name]Evangeline[/name].
  15. [name]Hilary[/name] - nms.
  16. [name]Simone[/name] - nms.
  17. [name]Brynna[/name] (“brin uh”) - interesting and could make a great mn to a more classical name - like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Brynna[/name].
  18. [name]Margaret[/name] (I really just like this name to use the nickname [name]Daisy[/name] lol… I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Daisy[/name]) - If you are only putting the name on your list so you can use the nn [name]Daisy[/name] why not try to find other options of how to get [name]Daisy[/name]? Or just use [name]Daisy[/name]? I understand preferring a formal name to [name]Daisy[/name],I feel that way about [name]Posey[/name]. But don’t keep something you don’t like just for the nn. That feels a bit silly.
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] - I always think of [name]Brunhild[/name] when I hear this name. and it strikes me as a bit masculine. though it is a very nice name.
  20. [name]Prisca[/name] (“priss kuh”) - I’m not sure how I feel about giving a little girl a name that starts with Priss. I fear the nn [name]Prissy[/name] would not be far off.
  21. [name]Parisa[/name] (“pah ree suh”) - feels like you didn’t want to name your child after [name]Paris[/name] [name]Hilton[/name] so you choose Parisan but thought the n made it masculin.
  22. [name]Tessa[/name] - So lovely!!!
  23. [name]Vivia[/name] - I would prefer [name]Vivian[/name] nn [name]Vivia[/name]
  24. [name]Milana[/name] (“mill LAWN uh”) - I prefer prn [name]Mil[/name]-ay-na.
  25. [name]Helena[/name] (I can’t choose between “huh [name]LAY[/name] nuh” and “huh [name]LEE[/name] nuh”. I definitely don’t like “HELL uh nuh”) - I love [name]Helena[/name] (Hell-uh-nuh) I’m sorry you don’t. the other two pronunciations don’t seem as easy for me to say.
  1. [name]Sidra[/name]: it’s OK. I think you would probably run into some pronunciation problems
  2. [name]Calla[/name]: So sweet. I think this is my favorite flower name.
  3. [name]Callia[/name]: Sounds a little made-up to me. I prefer [name]Calla[/name] or [name]Callie[/name].
  4. [name]Cena[/name]: I wouldn’t use it
  5. [name]Cassia[/name]: I think I like the “[name]CASS[/name]-ee-uh” pronunciation
  6. [name]Gioia[/name] (“joy uh”): I don’t like it…how about [name]Gia[/name]? ([name]GEE[/name]-a)
  7. [name]Aviva[/name]: I don’t like this one either
  8. [name]Elizabeth[/name]: Classic, can’t go wrong with [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Tons of great nicknames, too! I’ve always loved [name]Eliza[/name] as a nn.
  9. [name]Caroline[/name]: Beautiful and classic
  10. [name]Camille[/name]: Its OK
  11. [name]Carmen[/name]: I’ve never liked this name…it sounds very 80s to me
  12. [name]Veronica[/name]: I like it, but I prefer [name]Victoria[/name]
  13. [name]Anna[/name]: Very cute!
  14. [name]Evangelista[/name]: I strongly prefer [name]Evangeline[/name]
  15. [name]Hilary[/name]: Sounds dated to me
  16. [name]Simone[/name]: I like it!
  17. [name]Brynna[/name]: [name]Bryn[/name] is OK, but I really don’t like Bynna. Sounds like a trendy, made-up name.
  18. [name]Margaret[/name]: I did not know [name]Daisy[/name] was a nn for [name]Margaret[/name]!
  19. [name]Bronwyn[/name] (I’m aware of the [name]Bronwyn[/name]/ [name]Bronwen[/name] spellings. I apologize if that angers people of Welsh background to misspell one of their names)
  20. [name]Prisca[/name]: Strong dislike
  21. [name]Parisa[/name]: Same as above
  22. [name]Tessa[/name]: [name]LOVE[/name]!
  23. [name]Vivia[/name]: no, sorry
  24. [name]Milana[/name]: I think of [name]Milano[/name] cookies :). I would prefer [name]Milena[/name].
  25. [name]Helena[/name]: I like “hel-EE-na”
